Claudia is a very well respected by her colleagues for her work and she absolutely knows it. Don't try to combat her on ANYTHING. She is also a tough, arbitrary grader. Despite how rough her class is, she can be a wonderful contact to have and genuinely cares about helping some of her students.

Absolutely amazing teacher! The class in incredibly thought-provoking and Koonz does an excellent job of teaching it. Very dedicated and willing to meet with her students to discuss things. Expects a lot from the class but recognized hard work. Great teacher! Highly recommended!

Interesting class but an arbitrary, tough grader. Find out what she wants and follow it exactly, and you will get an A. But she's very inflexible and flaky: she'll refuse you if you tell her you need help/extensions, but after the test/assignment if you talk to her she'll say "Oh you should have told me you had problems, I would have helped!"

She knows that she is the expert in her field. She's a very rough poss arbitrary grader (I think she's unfair) and a bit ghoulish. She cares about her material and absolutely engages in class. There was soo much reading and too many assignments (though creative!!) to keep track of.

LOVED her. She is so knowledgeable, really gets to know every single one of her students even in a large class, and though she is a tough grader, is extremely willing to meet with you to talk about how to write a better paper. LOTS of work, but definitely worth it if you are interested in Human Rights.

Content of the class interesting, good teacher, BUT a very arbitrary grader. If it's not what she wants or written the way she likes, you won't get a good grade. Available for meetings,but doesn't really help much. Responds to e-mails rudely when you ask detailed questions. Great class but not worth the mass amount of effort or the harsh grading.

Extremely hard professor. Although she is available to discuss papers, she is unwilling to grade highly any writing style that differs from the approach she would have taken. A course with her will undoubtedly lower your GPA. However, I must admit that she is a very enthusiastic teacher.

People only see what they want to see. She is a classic example where she refuses to see anything other than what she wants to. Opinionated, supercilious and pig-headed. This is a professor who is highly over-rated and over-sold. If you can avoid her, you are not likely to miss much in life.
