Wonderful human being as well as professor. Clearly intelligent, knows what hes talking about, but extremely approachable. Prof Seldin is caring, kind, and fair. He will work with you to make sure you get your work done no matter the circumstances. Lectures are interesting and class flies by. Treats you like adults and will not assign busy work.

I took this class just to cover a gen-ed requirement and had no expectations but his enthusiasm made me look forward to this class. He really cares about his students and is definitely one of the best professors at Umass. Take any class with him and it will be awesome!

This is one of the best classes Ive ever taken. Honestly a very intriguing, discussion-based class with a very caring and thoughtful professor. Only weekly readings as assignments and there is 1 exam, 1 final paper, and 1 group project. Only downside to this class is that attendance is mandatory

Clement Seldin is the absolute man. One of the best instructors I have been able to have in my life. Take any course you can with him. Shows a big time interest in each student personally and created a real sense of community in the classroom. Class was not overly easy, but tests/project were not too difficult either.

He is the best professor you will ever have at UMass! He is kind, helpful, knowledgeable and hilarious. I took his course because I needed a 1 credit class to fulfill a requirement and when I saw all the good comments about him on ratemyprofessor I thought why not. The classroom is beyond out of my way, but his class is SO worth it, you'll love him

He makes coming to class early in the morning not bad. He provides a historical context to education (in an interesting way, i hate history) and jokes around a lot. He also makes the class fair. I definitely recommend that everyone in the education minor should take this class!

I was bored to death in this class....Clement has an ego the size of Texas and he favors sorority girls. He's a nice guy and he's available if you need him, but I did not find him an effective teacher.
