Lectures can be difficult to follow sometimes, but if you at the very least skim the readings you'll be fine. Really passionate about the subject. Definitely pay extra attention when he compares/contrasts different economic ideas at the end of lectures since that's what the midterm and final are based on

His lectures were pretty scattered, but that didn't matter too much since he's clear about how he wants the papers to be written. This class was interesting and explains why economic theories are the way that they are. Haulman was a extremely helpful and really just wants all of his students to do well.

Freshman seminar on the Industrial Revolution. I found the class interesting, and Haulman was a GREAT professor. He clearly loves the subject matter, and he gets everyone else into it, too. There's probably 1-2 hours of reading for each class. Three short reaction papers, one term paper, and a final.

Comment:
Professor Haulman has a deep understanding of the subject area; he is an engaging teacher, and allows much room for class discussion. He provided great support in writing the research paper. Reading load for the freshmen seminar is heavy and sometimes difficult, but he is quite understanding when the class is too busy to finish all the readings.

Super nice guy, very helpful. Assigns a lot of reading but you can make it by without the readings if you know your stuff. Go to him for help, he will always point you in the right direction. Easy grader.

Comment:
Prof. Haulman's lectures are slow, clear, and repetitive. Which is to say, extremely boring, but he makes it easy to understand the material. Lectures, problem sets, and the practice tests he provides directly reflect the material on the test. His review sessions are also very helpful.

Comment:
Haulman's lectures are very repetitive. The first time he discusses a topic, you probably won't understand it, but he does the same thing each class for two weeks so by the end you should be able to understand it.

I really liked Professor Haulman as a person but hated his class. He is not very clear and his tests are hard. Make sure to do the problem sets beforehand

Professor Haulman is the man, it's a shame he's retiring. I had him for econ 101 and is very accessible for office hours. 2 midterms and 1 final. not necessary to read the text book, but it definetly could help. if you want to learn econ, take this class.

It's true that his class is boring, but I learned a lot. I liked how he handed out worksheets to go along with the lectures. His overheads were dated but it's not like the fundamentals of microeconomics are changing. Also, he is an easy grader and gives options for papers that can really only raise your grade. I would suggest for micro.

This may be the most boring class ever created by human beings. Haulman is an interesting guy, especially the fact that he's vice mayor, but his lectures are incomprehensible. He still uses slides he made from the 70s. He makes the material hard with the various graphs, curves, etc.He is an easy grader though. I got a C when I should have got an F.

Professor Haulman was a very good professor. While he's a little boring, he explained everything you needed to know in class, and I didnt use the book at all. Tests are all problems (no multiple choice), but he gives tons of partial credit. Good class.

Haulman is the most boring, ineffective lecturer I've had. He still uses the same projection slides he used in 1693 when he started teaching here. He layers graphs so they end up looking like fourth grader scribbles. As confusing and annoying as he was, the class was not impossible. Don't read, attend a majority of classes and go to the reviews.

Professor Haulman is awesome. He is understanding, kind, and willing to help. It's not difficult to do well if you pay attention and take notes. He provides Tuesday help sessions and office hours. His class is interesting enough and is a good class to take if your schedule has room.

Boring class, boring old man. Needs to retire rather than to continually suck the life out of what can be a dry topic anyway.
