Goff is nice & wants you to do well but I found class boring. cases were so similar with so little variation it was hard to separate them. Gets distracted and jumps around from topic to topic and back again-difficult to follow. Exams all long answer but you can pick ½ to answer for each topic. Heavy reading, read three books total almost entirely.

Great Professor. There is no PowerPoints or posted notes, write down what he says and pay attention in class and you will do fine. Textbook reading is not overwhelming but you will need to read. He is a really nice person to talk to out of class and is always willing to help if you need. Standard 3rd year course difficulty.

5th year in university and I gotta say this is the most boring prof I ever had! Went to all his lectures and he gets off topic so quick. Half the student dropped his class by the drop date. Hard marker so avoid if you want to boost your GPA. He doesn't write down or post any notes either so you are on your own

Pretty much just read the textbooks for the class because he just summarizes the textbooks in lectures and jumps around from topic to topic during lectures.

Good guy, hella boring prof. Man gets so off topic, made me want to slam my head into desk daily. Lots of videos in class, a lot of assigned readings, and gets very off topic. Need to show up to class as he outlines what to study for tests. Did have bonus quizzes which could boost grade up to 5%.

I had him for intro sociology and found if I studied the definitions in the textbook for multiple choice questions and the videos for the long answers I got an A+. Not the most exciting class, but he was nice.

VOD Lectures were extremely boring with the exception of a few good documentaries. Textbook reading was a huge help in exams. Hard to determine what parts of his lectures are actually important since could sometimes talk about an unimportant subject for too long.

Exams were all multiple choice and usually straight from the text so they were pretty easy.I took this course through VOD and was soo bored. He often went off topic and repeated "and so on and so forth,""essentially,""we don't have time to get into this.."and then he'd talk about it for 20 mins!Still an easy course, but was very frustrating to watch

Lovely man. If you go to all of his lectures and take decent notes - easy A. Tends to ramble and go off on tangents at times, but often throws in key information so be sure to pay attention at all times. Nice to chat with after class.

Lectures are very confusing, he is all over the place makes little notes on board. Exams are long answer based on lecture notes but he doesn't tell you what they are you have to figure out yourself.

His notes make ABSOLUTELY no sense and are very hard to follow. However, if you want a good grade in the class I would recommend doing ALL the chapter summaries. Exams are hard too. Always questions on videos you watch so don't miss those. Still, interesting stuff to learn.

i kept up with the readings, did all of the chapter summaries, and studied so much for the exams. I did ok on the assignments, mostly A's and a few B's, but the exams were so hard. His lectures are impossible to follow and very confusing. If you are typing his notes word for word, your sentences will make sense 0/10 times. Nice guy, HARD class.

I attended all classes and worked hard. The workload was ridiculous and alot of the other students dropped the class. His instructions were unclear and attempts to clarify were more confusing. He's a good lecturer but this wasn't worth the damage to my GPA.

Professor Goff was my favorit professor while attending classes at the university. He is very knowledgeable about everything and very willing to answer any and all "serious" questions. He has a great sense of humour, which makes lectures fun. I highly recommend taking his classes.

Goff is very knowledgeable in criminology, but his explanations of concepts and theories are not clear. You would be better off just reading the text. Course material was interesting but tests were extremely difficult. I studied hard and only received a B on the final exam. His marking is also inconsistent and confusing.
