Overall great experience with PROF ALLERT. I recommend taking him! Tons of reading tho, Almost every class there will be a quiz, but it's all good because he assigns study material.

Craig Allert is an amazing prof. He is very passionate about theology and what he teaches during his lectures. He's a fair marker and makes you put effort and thought into your writing, but corrects you when necessary. He is open to your opinion and beliefs, as long as you back up your reasoning. A true gem prof at twu and funny at times.

In RELS 160, you write 4 papers, equating to around 30 pages total. It's hard to adjust to that many in the first semester of your first year. Easy/Fair grader with good feedback. The course is confusing at first but will make sense by the end.

Craig Allert is a friendly professor who puts in a ton of effort in supporting his students. This class, however, is very difficult for a 100 level course. You must write 4 papers total and complete a lot of readings. While they were difficult, I found that the content of the course was very interesting and I definitely did learn a lot.

He's pretty decent- papers are where the marks are. Concepts are difficult, but he realizes that and marks accordingly

First-rate professor. Your UG is lacking if you do not take an Allert class.

What a solid prof. He really knows what he is talking about and cares about it so much that you want to care. You might go through the entire semester and not have understood a single word that he has said- but that's okay. He grades really easy, and the exam guide is an exact replica of the exam. So fear not- theology won't kill you.

He approaches his lectures as if you have a wealth of knowledge in theology and Christianity. I wouldn't recommend him if you are not familiar with Christianity & theology.

Extremely good teacher: he is extremely organized and his lectures are clear, concise, and precise. Furthermore, he is very engaging in the classroom, respectful, and helpful during one-on-one discussions. The class is definitely not easy; however, Allert will put as much effort into you as you do the class. Hard work is rewarded.

This is a fantastic class. Be aware that it's challenging. Get started on the Williams text early, and when writing the review, back up everything you say. The final paper is very open ended, so pick something you enjoy and once again, back everything up.

Don't take RELS 160 unless you have to. The workload is excessive and the expectations are unattainable.

Craig is hard to read, you never know what he expects from you and whether he's on your side or not. Enjoys putting students on the spot and not very helpful with clarifications. His TA was much more helpful in clarifying expectations, and enjoyed talking to students out of class. Assignments are super difficult and marked harshly.

Allert knows what he is talking about, but has TA`s doing everything for him. The level of work for a 100 class is NOT worth it. 10 page paper, and 2 other essays -- all marked by the TA. Be ready for 4th year level grading, what you learn in this class is not worth taking it.

learn how to write a rels paper. I really enjoyed the lectures, but had a hard time with the final and term paper. he is an engaging lecturer, though, and presents a nice balance of ideas. also kinda felt like the expectations for grasping the content were a bit high, given that it's a first-year course.

Allert is brilliant. Reminds me of a hockey coach, but that's not bad! Maybe we need a few more hockey coach types in the theology world?
