doesn't take attendance, but has group activites every other class, so show up for points. Lets you out of class early. Very helpful, reponds to e-mail quickly. Tests are about memorization. They are hard if you don't know the terms. Study slides, read book, listen to podcasts, post discussions, go to class. An easy A or B.

Paired with Prof. Szymanski for Spring 2007 & seems to have made adjustments based on feedback from prior semesters. Go to every class (in-class assignments), study, and do the work and an A is very achievable. Offered an extra credit project that was worth tons of points.

Comment:

The most caring, helpful, and skillful instructor I have known over an embarrassingly long college career. Even four years later, I find myself quoting Dr. Van Slyke and pointing to his teaching methods and style as a model for others to follow. As he mentioned during class, he teaches by choice and could earn much more doing something else.

THe best professor for MIS in UCF, Why well he knows his stuff, you will learn. This is not about easy or hard, is about the learning experience, he does his thing as professor and you as a student and get an A. This is my second A with him. I wish all the classes were like him, he should teach other professor in UCF in how to teach effectively.
