he is a fair teacher who cares about his students. One of the few teachers at a community college that actually treats his students as adults and college students instead of high school kids. Have to work hard to get an A but feel accomplished when I did.

WOW. I?ve never had a professor who poorly helped his students. He was unclear about what to study. Never gave us any full power points. And we never received any assignment until 4 weeks before the semester ended. All in all, do not take this class. He is unwilling to help and doesn?t cover what you are ?suppose? to learn. I didnt learn anything!

Professor Stevens is an extremely nice man with an amazing life story. He cares deeply for all his students and really wants them to succeed! Although the class was a bit unstructured, he still made it easy to do well and was extremely generous in his grading! He is a very good instructor!

Dr. Stevens expect all of his students to work their buts off to earn an "A" in his class. If one does not put the effort into his/her work the grade you recieved is the grade you earn. As he reminds everyone he is the Emperor.

Dude is extremely inspirational. He's up there in age but he'll really trip you out with his character the first day of class. His lectures can be kind of boring, but he clarifies a lot of things. His anecdotes are entertaining. He demands a lot from you but at the same time he helps you a lot. He can be a bit controversial at times.

Great guy with a fascinating life story. I really enjoyed his class. He has a lack of structure, but do your reading, and your paper and you're fine. If you think he is hard you really aren't ready for college.

He does like to put people on the spot at times. He would call us out for missing class; I played it off and brought some laughs into the class. He was ill for about a month or so, which was difficult for everyone. Write a paper, do some movie reviews, etc.

This teacher is full of information but can talk for hours and hours upon end. He does not give any breaks during the class and talks you to sleep. Unless you are seriously interested in history, then I do not recommend you take this class.

The three hour class was too much. He focused on slavery more than any other topic which, I understand, slavery is a huge part of US History but I realy didn't learn about anything else. He also put people on the spot in a slightly rude manner that made the whole class uncomfortable. But the worst! He never gave a break. Three hours and no break!

I had to work harder in this class than in any other taken at the college. He is fair but demanding, so don't take him for granted. Go to class, participate, write essays and the research paper and you will be well prepared for UCSD or any other college.

Dr. Stevens is an excellent teacher. Took an 8 week class with him which means eight hour days and enjoyed the class very much. He adds a personal touch to history which I personal always found very boring until now. I was worried about the midterm and final but passed the class with a B which was the grade I gave myself. He knows history!!

I love this guy! Demanding but worthwhile, learn alot. Very structured, he gives you his notes - all tests from the notes he gives you. Always willing to help in any way, very understanding - one of the smartest people I know.

BE YE WARNED: This is an EXTREMLEY difficult teacher who gives "never ending" pages of notes. However, he knows how to inspire his students to reach their highest potential, but it's stress! If you need a letter of recomendation for a university, he would be a good source- he is after all a dean!
