Comment:

People who don't like her must not be interested in music. She is clear, direct, tells stories, and is a very accomplished musician herself. You really don't need the book - teaches straight from notes. Must attend class. No computers. No cell phones. Great teacher, strict, but good and knowledgable

Comment:

The students who say this class is boring are probably not interested in the history of music. Classical is where music was born...of course it's covered in a music class! I'm bored easily and was fascinated by this class. Cynthia has a lot of worldly experience, and no, it is not all classical she covers. The majority, but not all. I loved her!

Super Boring class. It's not hard by any means, but it's real boring. It's true that she basically only covers classical music. She's a cool lady, but she only uses powerpoints to teach. Like I said, Really, Really boring.

Horrible, all she cares about is beethoven and bach. Hell we are talking about the mid-1900s right now and she just keeps talking about beethoven. she covers no music besides classical. with that said, its still an easy class, just unbearable

I thought Cynthia was a great teacher! Most of the people who have problems with her are the people straight out of high school who like to play the blame game as an excuse for their bad grades. Pay attention, participate in lectures, and you will get a good grade. Classical is emphasized because most modern western music was born from classical.

Very nice prof. Easy to pass the class just memorize her power points for the tests and you'll do good. She has a great love for music and is very helpful if you're willing to learn. She loves people who participate so it's good to ask questions.

Cynthia is a doll. Her tests are simple if u read ur notes before class. The only thing thats hard is the 20 min oral speech. I put mine together in 2 hours and got a 100 percent. If your nice to her and follow the rules this class is simple. I got an A and I did nothing. Im a bad student. I got an A. Sign up.
