Dr. G is hilarious! I loved going to her class to hear her hilarious stories. The lectures are definitely interesting and funny and the material is very interesting. Her grading for the essays are kind of weird and she seems to just slap a random grade on there, but they aren't very challenging. Multiple choice tests are a bit challenging but fair

Comment:

Dr. G is one of the most enthusastic professors I've had. She's really good at keeping the class interested and entertained but also teaching them ideas in memorable ways. This was probably my favorite class this semester, and I'm definitely taking a another class from her in the future.

Lectures are super interesting, and Dr. Gentry has great stories to go along with every topic, so class is actually enjoyable. Tests are very easy IF you pay attention in class and do the readings (otherwise they'll be challenging). She can come off as a little intimidating but she is passionate about the subject and you will learn in this class.

I did all of the work, went to see her a few times for office hours, and I studied. Went into the final with a B and did really well. Ended up with a C. Tell me how that happens please. I guess all of the chatter about her being biased towards certain types of people and certain types of opinions was true. If you take the class, you take a risk.

Dr G is an incredible teacher. She is a no bullsh*t professor meaning that she is there to teach not to grade or make you as miserable as possible. She's very clear about what she expects from you and she knows what she's talking about. She plays devil's advocate a lot to test you on your knowledge. If you read, you'll pass her tests with ease.

CRIME&DEL. such an interesting class. She really gives you good views. a little scattered. Attendance is not mandatory AT ALL. very easy going. VERY liberal. If your a socio major take this class. Shes really nice at office hours and funny in class. 3 tests and 3 papers. def have to read for test but not difficult. LOVES talking about drugs

Another hyper liberal. Bemoans "grade grubbers", yet eats it up when kids slather her with attention for grades. Ambiguous sexuality and seeming hostility toward white, straight male conservatives. Tip: be a liberal, minority or hot chick & parrot her views and you'll coast to an easy A. Voice and defend your own views and settle for a B- at best.

Dr. G is great! She's pretty funny...Had 4 papers, one over a book and the others over articles...not too bad. then one big research paper. she really makes you think about issues in ways you never really would have before. and in your papers, make sure you "think about what you think"

Great professor, really funny. You have to put depth into what you think about what you think. Have clear opinions and ways to back them up. One one book to read and a few articles. Papers arent too difficult but you must really think in the reaction section to get a good grade

From the first day of class I loved Dr.G. She is really interesting and understandable( contrary to what others say). I loved her class, she really captured my attention. She also has great style which is nice. I really look up to Dr.G I think she has important things to teach and she in very good at doing it. Take her class it is fun and easy

First year seminar was awesome. Genetics is not at all in her field of study but she really gets into it. You learn a lot, but more importantly you think. Just a few papers to write, only 1 book to read. Easy and fun!

Dr. Gentry was the professor that made me want to be a sociology major. She's interesting, hilarious, intelligent, and very enjoyable. I don't think I learned as much from any of other professor...also, she's really pretty easy as long as you as she asks...easy elective - her workloads are VERY light!

Tests are easy, if you do ALL the reading. Lectures can get pretty boring, but sometimes she spices things up with jokes. Don't be intimidated at first, she's a lot softer/funnier than she seems. Tough grader for essays for sure.
