I don't understand why people complain about him. He breaks everything down and explains multiple ways to solve one problem. Not only that but he does test reviews that are really similar to the test. Better than my first college algebra professor! I went from a C to an A. Don't skip class and do the homework which is to your benefit. Nice guy.

Comment:

Do your homework and ask questions if you don't understand. The amount of work you put in to the class will determine your grade. Tests are pretty easy if you keep up with the material. He's a good professor but you can not afford to fall behind in his class.

He honestly just seems like one of those people who is too smart to communicate effectively with people who aren't mathematicians. I would not recommend him unless you are already very good at math.

Look, a lot of people like to complain that he isn't a good teacher and I think those people are wrong. I took his differential equations class and he was very detailed about the course. He even when into further topics in the lectures to let you understand the range of differential equations. If you are a lazy non math major avoid him.

For my entire life I've been a straight A student then this man showed up on schedule. The test questions are beyond what he teaches in the class and he the only way to get anything above a C is by exploiting some weird curves on the final that I don't even think are real. Take any other professor, but avoid this man for your own sake.

His class isn't exciting, but he is respectful and helpful if you have any questions or need help. You only have three exam grades (lowest exam is dropped) and attendance grades. His class is not too easy, just do the homework for your sake of practice. I don't know why everyone else is complaining.

I just took final and got A. I think the class will be difficult if you don't pay attention and if you don't do any homework. Tests were easy if you practiced the problems he gives in the class before test. I made 100 on every test with the exception if one test where I made 99. We started full class, but finished with 4 people.

If you've had to take MATH 1314 at the college level, you're not strong in math. I'm glad to see Dr.K gave some of you a large dose of reality regarding this fact. He's a very challenging professor, so if you're some entitled dolt that thinks it's unjust if the prof doesn't give you a "study sheet" with all the answers to the exam, just stay home.

I attend tutoring in the St. Claire building in order to comprehend what he teaches in class. Plus, the homework he gives isn't for a grade (which sucks because I could be passing his class if it were) and the homework doesn't fully prepare you for his exams. Take a different professor if you have to take this class and do not take it at 8 AM.

Complete waste of time and money. We started with at least 25 in the class and I believe we have 4-5 left. The material isn't that difficult to understand in class, but the tests are never the same as what he shows in class. Take a different teacher if you have him for College Algebra.

Luckily I remembered most of the Algebra I learned in high school, otherwise I would have failed his class. He does know what he's talking about, he just doesn't make it clear to his students. I would suggest to anyone taking his class to seek outside help from a tutor, etc.

I have never failed a class in my entire life and i think this might be my first. he knows his stuff but he doesnt know how to teach it to others. its very confusing because he doesnt go step by step and he never makes it clear on what chapter were on. and i hate that he doesnt give extra points from any thing. the worst class to take from him.

Took his College Algebra course over the summer. Not sure what these "Cat" comments are about, but the class was not fun at all. Monotone voice, by the end of the second week I was walking out of the class hoping I'd be able to learn the material once I got home. There's three tests and a final, no homework, classwork or extra credit. Take another.

I have him right now and I don't think he's really as unbearable as a lot of people are saying he is. Sometimes it gets really annoying when he goes off on some other subject that is totally irrelevant, but he just wants to show it to us. Also, he keeps telling us he wants to prove things. YOU'RE THE TEACHER! I BELIEVE YOU! I guess he's just okay.

The most horrible teacher that i've ever had. I'm failing his class right now, and I have never failed a class before in my life. I study at least four hours before each test on top of understanding homework. There's only six people left in this class, started with 30. I think everyone's failing. He's just terrible.

This man is not a teacher! He can only present material in one way. If you don't understand it, he rolls his eyes and tells you to figure it out. I took this class wanting to become a math teacher -- I'm strong in math -- and he convinced me to switch to another discipline. Yes, he's that bad.
