Dr Dan is an amazing teacher. You definitely have to put work in for this class but he makes it very doable. I would recommend him as a teacher to all who haven't taken 301 yet

Dr. Dan is awesome! This is NOT an easy A. As in, you need to buy the books and do the reading in order to pass! There is a 2-page paper due with each reading assignment, and essays with a couple of movies. But you will learn SO much from him and he is super understanding of other commitments as long as you are honest with him! TAKE HIM!

Dr. Dan's class is outstanding. Class is discussion based around readings from books he assigns. Be Warned: There is a 2 page paper on the readings due each day when class starts. (The papers are very easy, takes 40 mins max - ensures you do the reading, which saves your grade). Tests are simple and straightforward. One big project at the end.

Dr. Dan is possibly one of the best teachers at Pepperdine. He listens to students and helps them achieve their goals. He cares about his classes and puts a lot of effort into making them fun and clear. Incredible man that creates an incredible learning environment!

Dr. Dan is a great guy, super personable and always willing to help. But he really likes to make you write a lot about stuff that might not need to much writing to explain. Class was easy and informational about the latino christian experience in America.

Dr. Dan is one of the best professors at Pepperdine. He's genuinely caring, knowledgeable, charismatic, and funny. Although REL 526 is a G.E., the knowledge I gained in this class I'll remember all of my life. If you consider yourself an Evangelical Christian, enrolling in REL 526 is a must. It may be the most valuable class you take at Pepperdine.

Dr. Dan is by far one of my favorite professors at Pepperdine. There is quite a bit of reading for the class but it's not your average "textbook" reading. He has really good policies regarding grading and really takes into consideration what his students want. I would DEFINITELY take him again

Next semester will be my 3rd time to take Dr. Dan because his classes are that good. It's a lot of work for a GE, but it's totally worth it in my opinion. Study for the quizzes because they're worth as much as your final. Keep up with your reading, go to class and raise your hand every once in a while and you'll make a decent grade.

I LOVED this class, though it is more difficult than he tries to make it sound at the beginning at the semester. DO YOUR READINGS and don't get behind on the quizzes and you'll be fine. This class is by far the best option for your non-western GE credit.

I took this class my last semester at Pep and thought that he was a bit of a hard a$$ for the class being a GE requirement. If he does not like you, he will be a dick and grade your papers hard. My work was decent, but was graded in my opinion unfairly. This was the 2nd worse class I had in 4 years there.

This prof. is very difficult and demanding, but do not miss out on getting to know this dude. He knows his stuff and is passionate, he doesn't seem to understand that students are slackers and could care less about actually learning (especially for GE's). I graduated a few years ago and he's the only teacher worth a visit when I'm back on campus.

i absolutely hated taking this class... i'm convinced dr. rodriguez doesn't know rel 301 is a GE because he assigned more work than my upper division major classes. unless you want to spend your semester reading 4+ ENTIRE books and studying for his impossible quizzes... don't take this class

Nice guy, the class isn't too hard but the daily quizes are a ****. I had them every morning at 8am, and there not little reading quizes, you really do have to study hard 4 them. Yet, i still really liked him and his class

I have had him twice, Urban Ministry and Religions of the world. Lots of work and pretty high expectations, but well worth it. I have learned a ton in both classes. They have both changed my life. Very down to earth. Relates well. Either you love him, which most do, or he can be a little annoying.
