This professor is a real gem. I have taken him for two classes now and have another set up for next semester. Please read about his credentials through a google search or check out some of the books he's written. He's more than qualified to teach us. Pepperdine is lucky to have him. Very kind, very knowledgable, very wise. Just be on time :)

Dr. Caldwell was a standout during my years at Pepperdine. I took him after spending a year in Heidelberg and was so glad I did. The he man KNOWS international relations and his lectures are packed with illuminating information, they actually make you feel like you understand the complexities of the modern world. You NEED to take his class.

Probably the hardest exams I've taken yet. There are only two exams in the semester, so it is basically everything that you have learned up to that point. Get ready for long nights and I would suggest you REALLY read the text. He ask's questions about things that were mentioned in chap. 8 etc. VERY difficult course, but it was worth it.

Professor Caldwell is a genius lecturer: Clear, concise, and clever. If you follow his rules, study hard, and show interest in the class, you will do fine. I was actually terrified to take his class, but getting an A is totally doable. He will make you work, but with a fair amount of effort you can easily get good grades in his class! On the midterm you will have to make educated guesses on some of the questions, because he will ask you about quotes and names you've never seen before. Tests on details

I was scared to take his class, people have told Me that he's the hardest professor in pepperdine. He actually wasnt that hard, his lectures are very organized and super clear. Just do you work, watch whatever videos he asks you to and most importantly attend class. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!! professor Caldwell is the best.

Professor Caldwell is a difficult but fair professor; he always expects his students to come prepared and is able to keep everyone engaged in the subject. He is really helpful outside of class and always willing to encourage his students. If you work in his class, you will see the results.

Dr. Caldwell really knows what he's talking about, and the class is therefore extremely interesting. He does have a liberal slant in all his lectures, but he does present both sides. I don't understand why everyone says he's so difficult---the class is pretty easy if you show up and pay attention. Take this professor and learn from the best!

Caldwell is def not a prof whos class youd wanna slack in,but hes my fav prof!No quizzes,only had 2 tests & 2 papers in his POSC 542.Study cuz you wont get a study guide,but he does have a review session.Outlines his lectures so theyre easy to follow & hes very clear about what he wants.Also gives breaks in class.Def take him again,hard but fun!

Dr. Caldwell is a great person! Not only do I consider him one of my favorite professors, but also one of my favorite people at Pepperdine. Extremely knowledgeable person! After taking Intl. Relations and U.S. Foreign Policy, I understand a great deal more about the world than I did before.

The one professor I remember from Pepperdine. As a creative writing major, I was out of place in his class but I learned more in his class than in any of my other classes. He cares about his students AND about his subject. He invited us to his house for dinner, always made himself available outside of class. Incredible teacher.

Professor Caldwell is an extremely knowledgable and caring professor. He's always willing to meet with students out of class and is a great advisor. Pompous & increasingly biased, almost to the point of being illegitimate. Treats students like children. Spouts off the same meaningless statistics in EVERY ONE of his classes; if you've had one of his classes, then you've had them all. A good professor to take once, but I would go for Williams if you really want an unbiased, interesting course.
