He was a ok teacher who is really knowledgeable of what he is teaching. i didn't understand anything in the class. you have to come to all the classes and take all the notes you can take. i wouldn't take this class again and unless you understand Political Science and history then don't take this class and he his boring.

Great teacher who is really knowledgeable of what he is teaching. Nice guy, but if you don't come to class he will call you out on it. He expects you to participate and its a 1/4 of your grade the other 3/4 are the 2 tests and the final. As long as you go to class and take notes of what he says and study for the tests you're guaranteed a good grade

Good at explaining the material. When he wants you to write a reaction paper or an essay he is really unclear on what he wants. other than his teaching he is very full of himself and dont try to question his beliefs because he will shoot you down and not even care. Then when you dont participate because you get shot down he gives you bad part. grad

really engaging lecturer with a dry sense of humor. made the material engaging and fun. if you're a poli sci major, definitely take a class with him. (initially he takes attendance every class but kinda stops half way through the semester.)

Very intelligent and insightful. You have to work pretty hard to get an A. He is unclear what he wants in the reaction papers. When you get the hang of writing according to his expectations, it's not too bad. Homework reading assignments are not mandatory because he goes over it in class, as long as you take notes. A little biased, funny.

Dr. Sabia is not what i would consider a good professor. In a class numbering 35, about four of us studied together and were constantly reading and studing. His grades were beased on how much he liked you not how much he knew you. I constantly did all that was required of me and recieved a grade that was below stellar because he didn't like me.

Sabia is alright. I've had him three times now and all his classes are basically the same. Very few in-class tests, if any at all, and a lot of reading/writing. He does tend to ramble on a bit in class, but I don't regret taking him. If you want to take political theory, you don't have a choice anyway.

Sabia rules. Looking at the other posts I'm really surprised that people feel content to skewer him, because he's the best professor in the department. He certainly knows how to present the material, and he's only tactless when you don't feel like doing the reading. If you're serious about PoliSci, take his course. If you want an easy A, don't.

Mr. Sabia is a very unclear and unfair professor. His grading scale vaires so he gives you what ever he feels like. When writing papers if you quote the book he says that it's wrong. Sabia also plays favorites and completely unfair on the final. Do not take this class, even if you are an A student don't do it!

This man is one of the most intelligent professors I have ever had. However his class is superbly boring, his grading is very subjective, and there is no way to guarantee a good grade. Not recommended.

This man is very erratic. Hard Class. I made a B and I worked my ass off for it. I could not stand this class. When he lectured all I wanted to do was sleep. he also gives small five papers, one big paper, Two exams (all essay), participation(this is a totally arbitrary grade that he gives you). I hated taking this ****. Student Beware

Great lecturer, but sort of ignored that as one of his major strengths and tried to make a 45 person class a discussion. This backfired when he expected people to prepare answers they know they wouldn't be graded on. And then he gets mad. Perfect class to audit, and if you keep up the material is interesting and brilliantly presented.

No tests, just papers and essay midterm and final. Takes attendance and will punish you for too many absences. Interesting guy, but he grades harsh on participation. I felt the grading was unfair... but I could be wrong. He is super nerdy.

Interesting class. LOTS of reading and you need to read every word or he'll know. But you'll come away with some interesting conversational topics. And its better than the Humanities section if you have to take one.
