Super friendly and tries very hard to give extra help if needed, his slides are a little confusing but his tests are fair and his grading scheme is as well. One of my favourite profs!!

Teach yourself EVERYTHING. Useless. -textbook is entire of MC on test, he does not even mention anything in textbook on MC portion of test. Everything he covers is for the short answer part of test, which is a smaller portion than the MC.

He is a pleasant person in general. But he started off his intro class by saying he doesn't like when people use laptops and will call on people with laptops if no one answers. Participation is not part of your mark and neither is attendance so I thought this was a little mean.

Reading other students' feedback, I'll give Murphy the benefit of doubt and give him a 2, especially since it seems that he's never taught 2906 before. That said, the class was miserable. I couldn't hear him half the time, the slides looked like they were made the night before, and the written portions of his tests made you cry.

A lot of people struggled to follow his lectures but I found him to be quiet interesting. He's very understanding which is super helpful. After the strike he adjusted the syllabus according to what the class wanted and actually listened to our opinions. If you emailed him he always answered with the answers to your questions. Would recommend

Disorganized classroom environment. Doesn't have slides available prior to class- so you are forced to copy slides while lecturing- as well as expected to participate/answer questions. Awkward lecturer as well. Doesn't seem confident/comfortable.

Great prof, one of my favorites! Cares so much for his students and will go out of his way to help them. Tests are very fair. Multiple choice are straight from the textbook and short answer from lecture notes. If he repeats himself a lot it most likely means it will be a short answer question. Love this guy!

Dana is a really awesome guy. His upper year classes are great. A lot of students formulate their opinion of Dana after Child/Adult Dev. I admit that I was not the biggest fan in 2nd year either, but my opinion of him has been altered completely. I urge students to take other classes from Dana. You see a different side of him in small classes.cute

Dr. Murphy is dedicated to his students and facilitating learning. He puts a large amount of effort into making sure his students understand material. He brings outside research into the class to demonstrate concepts and provides great test reviews. Yes, he expects that you should have to attend class and study to receive a good mark. Awesome Prof!

You guys need to stop complaining, you probably took Developmental Psych for Educators because it was mandatory, no prior interest. He tries so hard to make lectures enjoyable, and relates to real life, goes out of his way to make good review sessions, what other profs do you know that do that? He is always willing to help, and is very supportive!

Well, personally, l think he is a good prof. He is very well organized with his lecture slides, which are available on the web, and the textbook is highly correlated, but he also pulls out supporting experiments done by researchers. l took sensation because it was mandatory, but l'm glad l did, l learned a lot. He is also always willing to clarify!

Lousy, boring and awful! Lord help us, someone fetch a basin so I can retch. I took it 2 years ago and I still shudder at the memory. The class was so bad that half the people skipped all the time. No lie--during tests and exams the room's population would double. DOUBLE! The class was fluffily easy, but that didn't make it any better. Trust me.
