The toughest FYS at the university. It will prepare you for upper-level courses rather than introducing you to college coursework. Reading and writings assigned for every class. However, there are no tests. Discussions are tedious and sometimes boring.

Dr. Alexander is a very intelligent professor; however, his boards are often disorganized and difficult to read and homework assignments written by him are a bit vague and confusing. Otherwise, he's very helpful and an overall great guy.

Upbeat and pretty fun. His grading scale is confusing but works in the students favor. Homework is never turned in but you need to do the homework to keep up, at least some of it. Not an easy A but doable.

Prof Alexander is really passionate about what he teaches. It shows in his excitement in class. Quick to grade and return papers and is always helpful. Only downside is that he occasionally gets confused over what he is teaching and makes little mistakes frequently.

Best teacher I've ever had. Really helpful and very good at explaining if needed. Interesting way of grading makes it easy to get a B, hard to get an A. Quirky clothing! If you go to class and actively participate, there is not need to do any practice problems.

He is very understanding, if you put forth the effort, he will recognize it at the end of the semester by rounding up. The grading system is confusing, but works out in the end. Sometimes he does the work to get the wrong answer, but doesnt tell the class until he finishes the problem which can be a little confusing. Very good teacher overall.

Difficult to understand, sometimes confuses himself. But really hard to not pass. If you have a low grade, don't worry, just get an A on the last 2 exams and you get an A in the course.

Great guy, easy (but confusing) grading scale. Homework not mandatory but helpful. Tests were hard, but the curve was easy. Sometimes went into too much detail on explanations, but would always explain again and again.

His grading scale is very easy (and his test are not that hard). As long as you know what you are doing you can get an easy A on the test. Because of his easy grading scale, I didn't even have to take the last 2 tests and could still get an A in his glass. He will also help you figure out a Math career, if you are interested. Good prof, great guy!
