Cook's lectures are extremely boring and hard to sit through. Homework is more helpful in teaching the material. He does curve quite a bit, so that's nice, but be ready to work for your grade.

A great guy outside of the class, and occasionally funny in class. His lectures move really really quickly, so good luck keeping up. Luckily, he'll let you stop him if you have a question so use this to your advantage. Tests were much easier than the homework in general.

From a person who got an A in the class-- only go to the class for test 3 and ask him how HE likes the notation (cause it is HIS class). Also, do all of the homework. If you can, chegg/find the solution to the question, analyze it and you should be set to success. btw, ppl who received D's in tests got B's for the semester. Good luck!

He is the worst teacher I have had in my life. I visited his office hours and he got angry and ran me off. His tests are inconsistent with the course material and lectures. Most students get bad grades. This teacher does not care about students. I learned absolutely nothing about statistics from him. I would not recommend. Avoid at all costs.

Awful teacher. Poor communicator. Unorganized. No passion and not engaging to students. Tests do not reflect homework. Hard grader. Appears to be focused on research rather than teaching students. Worst professor at TU. Avoid at all costs. Not recommended.

Do well in quiz section is the best advice I can give. I took this class as a refresher course, thankfully. He does not respond to emails whatsoever. Seems to be a cool person but I do not recommend him as a professor. Take calc 2 with someone else if possible.

He is quiet and nice. His class is challenging, but doing well in the Quiz section helps a lot. Do the practice homework problems to prepare for tests. The course covers lots of very challenging material, but Dr. Cook's tests usually only include the simpler problems. They can still be challenging though.

I know some people don't like Dr. Cook but he grows on you, and I've come to love him as a professor. He is insanely smart and knows his stuff very well. I think grad school classes are better taken with him than undergrad classes, just because he's too dang smart to teach the lower level courses. He'll challenge you but let you succeed.

Class is completely useless, not worth actually attending. Quizzes are pretty easy if you know what's on them. Tests are really poorly worded, and he's an all or nothing grader. He curves the tests to make his median an 85.

Yes he is very very very boring but the tests are rediculously easy! As long as you do the homework twice you're good. And if you forget to study? No problem! He curves his grades until the median is 85 (making the highest grade over 125/100). My advice do the homework and go to class and you will ace everything.

what a horrible teacher. don't listen to lecture, just read the book, he follows it fairly well, but doesn't refer to it much. all tests/quizzes are over certain sections in the book. Just avoid this guy if you can!!
