Nice guy, but pretty disorganized. He gets peeved when people ask him questions during class, but he let us out early 20 or more minutes early pretty frequently (I took him T-R). I can tell he knows his stuff but isn't good at passing that knowledge to students. Treated us like high schoolers & gave us his own notes to follow. Gave extra credit.

2 out of our 3 exams were take home essays, and the other one was 50 MC and 4 short answers. Attendance was taken all but like 3 times, but it's important because the class is only once a week for three hours. Not many other assignments. He's a slow grader but be patient. Very leneint in grading and looks for places to give back points on exams.

Such a nice professor, can be helpful if you ask the right questions, lectures are a little disorganized, he's fairly awkward but you really do have to laugh. Don't let the kind personality fool you, he does grade a bit tougher than others. Will definitely be taking him again though for more than one course.

Dr. Yocom is very disorganized and not the best at explaining things but was very nice when I went to him for help with the final. Definitely use the book, go to class (takes attendance), do all the assingments, and turn the final in early for bonus points and you'll do just fine.

Such a nice man. The problem is that when he lectures he doesn't look up. He does not encourge class participation. If you raise your hand he doesn't see it. Test are VERY hard, 50 MC & 3 essays.He grades well on the papers and essays. He wanted 4 papers besides the 3 tests. If you can just listen to the lectures and follow the handouts your good.

Ditto to 12/6. Seemed very disorganized in general. Did not keep student interest. Knows his stuff but not so clear on teaching it. I learned almost everything from the text. Crammed way too much at the end. Attendance taken everyday. Avoid if possible.

Great class. Sometimes tells awkward stories but they're so awkward you have to laugh anyway. He grades fairly (& rarely gives low ones) & offered up to 30 bonus points this semester. He also made one assignment optional. Pretty laid back, easy going guy. Take this class!

update on bio 375... tests aren't take home, assignments are hard and attendance is required. he gave three assignments and a take home final all due the week of the third test. read word for word from the book. i asked for help all the time and he would just repeat what he said in class, obviously not helpful!

Biometry is the most boring class in the world, especially at 8am. However, attendance is not mandatory. All assignments & both tests are take home. I didn't really get many assignments or either of my tests back, but I can't complain, still got an A.

He's a great guy, I think he's a big gentle goof. His lectures were a little difficult to understand at first because he seems to get flustered, but he really loves what he teaches. He fell really behind with my class with grades though, we didnt get grades until way after the drop period for classes.

Took ecology with him a few years ago. He's a great professor and very helpful. When I took the course it was rather boring and not totally clear, but I believe it to be more associated with the content of the course as it can be dry and difficult in general. Had him for another class and he's great all around to have as a professor.

Super nice guy. If you go to class and pay attention, it's obviously much easier. He hands out class outlines so it's easy to take notes. He's funny, too. Very laid back.
