DISLIKE. She would tell you your work is wrong, but not help you understand why. She was very mean to most students. She walked around just saying we were wrong and discouraging us. Her french is excellent, but she doesn't know how to teach. Not a great first year prof, she made me not want to take french anymore. :(

Past comments made me scared to take a class with her and I understand people's comments somewhat, but honestly if you show up to class, pay attention and do the assignments then you shouldn't have a problem with her. She marks relatively easily and really wants you to learn. She is just a no nonsense sort of person. Work and she will like you.

the first class I took with her I hated her and thought she was cruel and insane, but after having taken a few more, she grows on you. She really wants you to learn, but she is VERY harsh sometimes, and quick to jump to conclusions. Very old fashioned as well. Not too sure I want to take anything else with her, though.

So very Parisian! She has a clear, but quick, teaching style, and loves to help. Goes beyond expectations. She'll clue you in on idiomatic expressions and French culture too. I will take other courses with her.

The final is in two weeks and im very afraid. If my electronic translator (buy one you'll need it) stops working i'll be screwed because there's no real vocab to learn, its all random! Be POLITE and be interested, she'll like you and will mark you easier. Very nice lady, but as a prof...???

Not a hard class if you do the work. Shepherd can be a bit intimidating and condescending, but if you get to know her, she will like you. My marks shot up when I started going to her office hours for extra help. She wants you to learn.

She's CRAZY! Her syllabus isnt complete, she makes many harsh comments and shes almost bipolar.she yells at you for taking down the notes shes writing sometimes, but others she gets mad if you dont. and you cant tell the difference. but she grows on you.
