Unfortunately she has some major health issues which caused her to cancel class/ end class early quite a few times. She has a million things to be graded on. A quiz almost every single day. However, there aren't really any tests except for the mid-term. She doesn't follow curriculum. If you like Tolkien, would recommend. Also she's a bit kooky.

There is very little sense of organization. In her lectures she jumps all over the place and its hard to take organized notes. She also just kind of tells you what the answers are, and there's little discussion. She seems too focused on taking up time with her favorite book to teach much else.

Professor Hill is great! She does assign a lot of work and readings but if you want a teacher that is passionate, interesting in lecture, and will work with you to pass... well she's the right one! 2 test (Midterm and Final) and 2 Papers (one being semester project). If you don't do the assigned readings you won't pass the quizzes.

This is my second time with her. She doesn't stay on syllabus all the time, which is bad more than good for the most part. She assigns a lot of work which is not necessary hard, but very lengthy. She lectures VERY HEAVY, all my class notes were 3-4 pages front and back. She cares for her students, she won't let you fail if you REALLY try.

Dr. Hill is a sweet lady. The exams are all essays so much sure you know what to write about. We took vocabulary quizzes each time you go to class. There were many books that you had to read. Her lectures are pretty much all over the place but I'm sure she's unaware about that.

I took her class over a year ago, and I'm still scarred. No adherence to syllabus, frequent jabs at any outside of her political-evangelical world view, unclear expectations, and relatively pedestrian instruction (perhaps the result of her refusal to approach texts with any nuance, for fear of toppling authors and Jesus off of their pedestals).

Accepts late assignments but takes her time grading them. Tests are all essay and short answer and MUST use the entire blue book or you'll make a 70. Vocab quizzes every week. Get books as the come up in class, assigned 6 only read 2 and one that wasted on the list to begin with. Write everything down! Every word during lecture is on exam!

I thought Dr. Hill was going to be great. I was excited to take her class, until I realized how much structure it lacked. She doesn't go by the syllabus, we were supposed to read 7 books, but read 2.5. I almost failed because I had to email her 7 times about posting grades. She lost several people's papers. She's nice & smart, but very unorganized.

I feel she is a hit or miss with her students. With me, more of a miss. During my semester with her, she never followed the syllabus which can be good, to a point. All tests were essays, which are hard. She grades very tough, ALWAYS PROOFREAD, don't make English grammar mistakes. At the end she changed her grading percentage, which hurt my grade.

A couple of things happened while I was in her class. She never stayed with the syllabus, always pushing things back; Pushing things back is okay, just not every time. We had six books, only read 5, and didn't read the full book, not even half. The tests are essays, which are okay, but you have to study. She's a talker during lecture. I recommend.

This woman is legitimately the worst professor I have ever taken. she has no respect for your analysis, she only focuses heavily on Herbert and her class is basically a bible study every day. I had to go to another professor to complain about her. Seriously. Don't take anything with her.

Dr. Hill is very unorganized, rude & sarcastic. She shows no sympathy for anyone. She takes forever to get grades back & sometimes forgets to post them at all until you e-mail her. She almost gave me a zero for not doing a presentation because time ran out, but it's HER fault there wasn't enough time for everyone to present. DO NOT TAKE HER.

Dr. Hill is the absolute best English professor at Sam. No, her classes aren't easy, but if you pay attention in class, take good notes, and ask questions, you will make an A. She is extremly helpful and takes a personal interest in you. She can go off topic a bit and seem scattered brained, but it really all does tie together if you pay attention

She is a very sweet lady and very passionate about her classes, but very unorganized. One day we would be talking about Rhetoric and the next day about politics. I felt like nothing went hand in hand. She also took forever to give us any grades. We had to write 6 papers that were 5+ pages one was 15 pages. All due within two weeks of each other.

I had Dr. Hill in High School and I thought it would be fun to take her class a few years later- Man that was a mistake! She is still the "Write that down", "Rachel you can write a 5 page paper for that and submit it to me next class" scatter-brained Darci Hill - oh and it is DR. Hill save yourself and NEVER CALL HER "Mrs. Hill"

Dr.Hill is a character! She is great at explaining the epics you go over in great detail. You hardly have any quizzes and they're super easy. She does expect a lot from your term paper, so watch out! But I recommend this course!!

Wonderful professor. She really knows her material, and she explains it in such a way that it is easily understood. She takes a hard subject and makes it appear easy. Through Dante, she teaches life lessons that are relevant for today. You do have to study and take notes.

I have mixed reviews about Dr. Hill. I didn't like that she used so much religion in class. I felt it was unnecessary and unrelated in most cases. I took two classes and got A's in both. Just thrown up everything she says back at her and you'll do well.
