Hardest professor my freshman year! Reviews? Non-existent. Knows what he's talking about? Absolutely, but his sarcasm gets to a limit. Answers homework problems? Sure, but only after you managed to understand a lesson after you did terrible the first time. Tests? Even if you're a math expert, Dr. Short's tests are very difficult.

Dr. Short does a really good job teaching very difficult material. Calculus 2 is a hard class on its own, and you will still probably spend a lot of time outside of class learning on your own, but he always takes time at the beginning of class to answer questions and will not move on unless everyone understands.

Dr. Short is probably the best calculus professor here. He always pulls questions from the notes for the quizzes and tests so if you study you will do good. If you don't go to class you will be extremely lost.

His lectures are straight forward and whatever he covers is going to be on the test. NO surprises! He explains everything clearly and does not mind providing more examples. He also encourages students to ask questions and to speak up if they are lost. The homework is optional but it may count towards an extra quiz grade.

Probably my least favorite professor that I've had. His tests were harder than what I was prepared for, and he could be rude. At one point he told the class something like, "If you're having a hard time, you should consider switching majors." Would only explain things one way. Taught myself by reading the textbook. Went from an F to a C this way.

He expect student to understand the first time he explain something.. He does not like to explain how he got his answer. If you're not good at catching on FAST you will fail! quiz every Friday( 10 points). Test are HARD! and nothing like the Homework or anything he goes over in class. This class stressed me OUT! YES I FAIL. DO NOT TAKE HIM!

Although Calculus is very difficult, he taught at very reasonable rate. I understood the material during class but his tests were extremely hard. Only had about 10-13 problems each test while there were only 3 tests plus a final. He used easy examples during lecture but put difficult questions on the test. I would not suggest taking him.

Made Calc 2 about as interesting of a class as it could be! Homework, although not for a grade, is essential in understanding course material and being prepared for the weekly quizzes. Exams are straightforward. You can be successful in this class given you put in the work and don't be shy about any questions. Highly recommend, would take again!

He expects everyone to get the material the first time he explains it. If u dont he will say something like "come on guys this is easy stuff"!! Hes the teacher he is supposed to get it we are the students we're trying 2 learn it. His office hours r bad. and when u go to his office he will rush you and make like he has more important things to do.

I am really good at math- any kind- and this is the 2nd male math professor I have had at Sam and I don't understand him- nor did I understand the other one. If you understand the "why" and "how" in math then you will do great in this class I, however, don't and he doesn't "help" you unless you have a question. Office hours are ridiculous!

This is the second time I have taken this class. Short was a way better prof for this course! The course is pretty challenging, but he does several examples in class. He really likes you to ask questions in class. Just keep up with the work and you'll be fine.

Dr. Short is a good teacher. I learned the material for sure. But I agree with everyone on here. His tests are a bit hard. Asks you to take derivatives that are crazy long. Smeh. Got an A in Calc II. Have a 98 in Calc III right now and we are almost done. Got a C in this class, Calc I. But he is nice, he gave me that C. I was failing. Worked hard.

Dr Short was a good professor but when it came to tests, they were a whole lot harder than any material we covered in class or in the textbook. On the bright side though, he gives a whole lot of partial credit on tests and quizzes if he feels like you understand the method. I would highly recommend him! A lot better than any of the other Calc profs

Unless you excel at math, I would avoid. This dude moves through material quickly and skips important steps in calculations. Explains everything verbally and the notes are very unclear. Makes exams SUPER hard. Almost makes me think he's trying to fail you. Math majors are failing this class, that should tell you something.

The best professor you could ask for when taking Calculus! He is clear and concise and makes concepts easy to understand. Yes, Calculus is hard so if you are not willing to work hard you will not do well, but if you work hard you can easily make a great grade. Take him if you can!

If you're a math major, I'd say consider taking him because he wants you to learn every facet of the material. No reviews. Goes over material quickly and expects you to know it by heart after that. Isn't willing to go over concepts in office hours, only particular assigned problems. The only way I would recomend this guy is if you grasp mathquickly

He is good at explaining. And you should ask questions in class. He is willing to help you more if you do. What I didn't like was that he required the new, really expensive Trig book. Assigned all the homework from it. And the test questions were totally different. I know it's because he doesn't want to update his test bank. But that's just wrong.

While the material is hard, he does a great job teaching it. He expects you to make an effort in learning: ask a question once and he'll just help you answer it yourself (no direct answer!) but if you can't get it, ask again or go to his office and HE WILL HELP YOU!!! Watch out tho his tests are HARD but not impossible, MUST STUDY! Do recommend!
