Fantastic professor. Full of himself but liable to be played with. Wonderful reading list. Puts so much work into his upper level classes. Take "Power" and any course involving Weber/torture/social theory. Push him hard, he will like it.

Had him for both 230 and an upper-division class. 230 was lame, but think of it like it's hum 110. Until you read the large body of material, you don't know anything at all about political philosophy. Once you do, you're golden. The upper div class was MUCH better. It's worth it to suffer through 230 just so you can take an upper-div with him.

I took political philosophy with Darius. It is true he is an odd bird, a prima donna. But he is damn smart and makes you think harder than you ever have before. It was my first class at Reed and its when I realized my intellectual limitations. Brilliant but strange, bit full of himself and thus can be unhelpful to those who might need the most help

He thinks a lot of himself. He loves to pontificate. He doesn't excel at giving clear, concise answers to questions, but does excel at making his students feel inferior. A real shame, considering how much his years of research is needed. I respect his work, but highly dislike his personality.

Prof. Rejali was one of the best experiences of my undergraduate education. His lessons on power and the reality of politics are still with me to this day (and have been invaluable in my non-academic professional career). The man teaches how to think, and there is simply no price tag for that.

i hated pol.phil. but the man made me love to think. he's a genius but extremely demanding and it's totally worth it. you will learn whether you wanted to or not- but don't speak if you haven't read. i could not be more pissed that he took two years sabbatical during my time there; i wanted it all.
