I've taken a few classes from Darlene and I don't really understand what the problem is with her assignments. I just looked at the rubrics or rating scales she gave and made sure that I had everything that she listed on them in my assignments and got a good grade on all of them. She also cares a lot and is always willing to help.

She is fun and upbeat I will give her that BUT her assignments are very unclear I don't think she even knows what she wants. Similar to everyone else I would suggest asking questions to clarify what she wants but you will get a different answer each time. As another person said, I too am sadden by the fact that the faculty of ed has her on staff.

I like teachers who students classify as hard.I like being pushed to my limits & challenged.But I don't like Darlene.She is unclear which creates confusing assingmnets.I am dissapointed in the faculty of ed.We are tring to learn how to be good teachers but how are we supposed to do that when our insturcotrs don't know what they are doing?

i speak for everyone in her class that first had her in ehe 258 in 2004-2005 in saying that yes, she is the task master, and sometimes i think she puts a little too much work burden on herself, but she is very willing to compromise and is ALWAYS there willing to help you at any time. although she sometimes tells it like it is when unnecessary.

Darlene is a great lady but she really sucks at explaining things. She is very unclear with all assignments. Make sure you ask A LOT of questions for clarification. But she knows her stuff and is a reasonable person. Good luck in this class it's very very stressful!!

Like others have said - YOU HAVE TO ASK QUESTIONS - and ask the same questions several times in different ways so you can make sure she clarifies and justifies her answers. She changes her mind all the time. However - she is fun.

Darlene is a very down to earth professor with plenty of real world experience. People don't like her because she will make you accountable for your own learning and that can be tough at times. Don't worry about the professor and concentrate on your professional development.

Darlene is really nice, but very unclear in teaching. Her tests are hard... Expects a lot of off-campus presentations--making it hard to make it to other classes on time(or at all). The students and guest speakers are who teach the class the whole course.
