Dave is a knowledgeable professor. This course is though. You need to spend a lot of time to study. The class is kind of boring. He just going though the ppt. 2 assignments worth 10%. If you handed in on time, you can get full marks. Fair teacher, I will take him again.

Comment:

Taxation is a tough subject. Dave is a little-bit lazy teacher with almost no homework and a very little feed-back. Took three weeks to give us marks on our 2nd assignment and then he gave everybody full marks for just turning it in. Allowed us to bring an answer to one of the questions prior to the final exam. But he is knowledgeable and fair.

There's no interactive turorial... meaning that when there's a question, you have to do it yourself. He's not gonna walk you through. All he does is to refer to the PowerPoint and give homework. He's a nice guy though, I'll give him that. You're basically paying him to fail.

He is very good teacher but it s not a kindergarten course, do not expect him to do all the works for you, you have to study , do your homeworks, read your book if you want to pass, he treats all students fairly and he has a good heart and knows his materials .

Dave is extremely knowledgeable and knows his material, but is awful at explaining it to the class. He gives the impression that he doesn't care if his students pass or fail and does not go out of his way to help them. He skips important sections from the textbook with a "this is easy you can learn this yourself" and will often leave class early.

Dave is a great guy and knows his sh!t. If you do the H/W and participated in class you should have no problem getting a decent grad. My class average was 50% because the majority of the class didn't do either of the above. He tells you whats on the exam so if you don't study/do the H/W it's your own fault. People forget it's an accelerated class.

Dave should not even be allowed to teach, because he doesn't. He never uses all of class time, and it seems like he just wants to leave instead of teach us further. His time managment skills are terrible. He completely skipped over teaching us Cash Flow for some reason but will be testing us on it on the midterm AND final. The worst prof at kpu.

Please do not take this professor. I have had professors in previous acct classes which have been harder, but Dave is the worst. He does not actually teach at all. No notes, no handouts. He seems like he would rather be someplace else and only uses a fraction of the class time so he can leave. Useless prof. You have to learn on ur own in this class

Took him for Taxation; AVOID AVOID AVOID! He knows his stuff, but doesn't teach it to you. He went through a 3rd of the required chapters on the last class before the final and just said anything in them is fair games (that was him teaching). Tried going to him for help, any he just blew me off saying the answer is in the text and I need to find it

He fully understands tax, however cannot teach it. You basically teach yourself, he doesn't do any examples, has no slides, no prep questions, and is SOOO boring that I couldnt stop falling asleep. This is the only course I've failed in my Acct diploma. Only take if you're capable of learning tax COMPLETELY on your own. Exams are ridiculously hard.

Tax itself is a hard course. Regardless of who might be teaching it, it won't get any easier. Uses ITA and requires it for the course. Does not go over all contents of the book, must read on your own time. He does a good job of relating content to real world examples. Tests are difficult, but that is due to the course being difficult.

His lectures are really vague and he won't do any question or problem himself. It's just like taking a correspondence course where you get minimum guidance.Always delays chapters and midterms and heavy workload in the last week before the final.Marking is really hard and expects you to know everything to do assignments and exams.NOT RECOMMENDED

Assignments, and midterms are based on chapters not even covered in class. He totally skipped 1 class for a conference, delayed midterm, and just 1 weel before the final covered 3 new chapters not keeping in mind that this is not the only course that the students are taking. Tests are never based on material covered in class.DONT TAKE HIM!!!!

Assigns the longest homework questions yet his exams are all multiple choice. Puts alot of material on the midterms that wasn't mentioned in the class. Our second midterm contained atleast 20+ m/c questions on a chapter that was already tested on and not supposed to be on the exam. Try to avoid if possible.
