Comment:

Writes terrible tests. He is self-centred and shrewd. Definitely a wolf in sheeps clothing. Comes across very friendly at the start, but schemes and always has an alterior motive. God help you if you are unlucky enough to work for him. He likes money much more than people. He appears to be knowledgeable in class lectures, however I would avoid him.

He seems so nice! But the material and the ppt is so confusing. Tests are badly written, it makes the test even harder!!!! You have to read the text book in order to do the test!

David clearly does not know how to teach. He is disorganized and his tests are very long and unclear. He uses the same questions from previous tests though so look over your previous midterms.

His tests are ridiculous. It doesnt really matter how much you study, due to the poor wording, repeat questions and testing on material we did not cover. Powerpoints are not organized easily so that you know which ones we are on. On one midterms he thought cell phones were ok for international students, glad someone got the test cancelled.

I stayed up for three days in order to master the Marketing Mid-Term exam that David constructed. He allowed online dictionaries as well as phones, which I though was odd, especially since it was almost completely unnecessary to use a dictionary in the first places (except ESL students) , anyhow after receiving a fantastic grade the test was voided

Loved this class. Material was extremely practical. If you are looking to start your own business, or already have one, the course work is easy and useful. Students who lacked business drive and creativity struggled in this course. A useful tip for this class: Think of a business idea and further apply the course material throughout the semester.

He doesn't care about teaching, puts virtually no effort into his assignments, cases or midterms. Completely riddled with spelling errors, broken links and overall useless content - prepare for a frustrating class

Lectures are boring, but great at giving examples, though chapters he teaches don't link with the chapters in the text. A bit disorganized; posts 60 pages you should read for the midterm the day before. He definitely cares, creates practice tests and has review sessions. He uses questions from the practice tests so make sure you do them!

This class is somewhat a joke. Boag starts by forcing you to buy HIS online text to do mandatory quizzes. His first mid term is really easy the second one and final are harder but still not too bad. Group work isn't too hard but he wants you to regurgitate his thoughts. Lastly he doesn't teach the most difficult chapter and asks you to know it.

He's a better prof than most people give him credit for. He knows his stuff and is available all the time via phone. While his grading system is easy (just a bunch of recycled multiple choice questions and the same the assignments repeated on the exam) it doesn't really reflect how well you understand the actual concepts of marketing.

he wrote the textbook so there were plenty of mistakes- editing, answer errors, etc. but midterms were straight from his 'textbook' and the quizzes. same with the final. not incredibly hard, just alot of terminology.

While marketing is a fascinating topic, this course is marketing according to boag. Which makes it vague and unclear. No feedback was given, cases were boagus, and multiple choice exams were filled with mistakes and repititions. As long as you know the textbook back to front you will do well. Never attends his office hours, why would he need to?

This prof was great. He seems to have read the comments about him and changed his teaching style because the final was exactly the same as all midterms. Very fair. He went above and beyond to be available to answer questions from students. Very pleasant attitude. Lectures were engaging and used lots of great, clear examples. Overall, great prof!!

Comment:

The textbook used in class was written by him with no editing whatsoever. Its FULL of spelling errors and mistakes. The printable version also says different things than the online version so who knows whats right. The questions on his test sometimes don't seem to come from class or text. ZERO feedback. Doesn't care about teaching at all.
