Comment:

Super funny. The class is learning how to write essays and effectively read and write and take notes. A+ professor and funny. Appreciates participation in class especially if everyone refuses to answer anything, but won't be a jerk about it. Willing to answer specific questions and give focused help on anything. The work load is heavy but worth it.

Honestly, if you're looking for a handout, do not take this class. Dr. B makes you work for your grade. You also won't do well if you don't take the time to go over your essays with him. However, he was one of the most captivating/inspirational professors I have had to date. My quality of writing has drastically improved from one semester with him.

I def. recommend taking Dr. Bordelon's class. Although he is a tough grader. He wants you to succeed and gives you all the resources you need to be able to succeed. You can email him any questions you have, he gets back to you right away. Quickly became one of my favorite professors. His class can be challenging at times but you will learn a lot

He's honestly not a bad professor. I've learned a lot from taking his course, but he is a very tough grader. I've spent hours and hours on papers and have gotten some pretty low grades, so you have to work hard taking his class.

Grades were due from professors A WEEK AGO, and all of my other classes have uploaded their final grades for me, except one person. David Bordelon. This has been a reoccurring theme this whole semester. DO NOT TAKE HIM. DOES NOT DO HIS JOB. He has uploaded ONE grade to canvas, and his standards are too high for papers. An "A" is nonexistent. AWFUL.

AWFUL. I would never take this professor again. He is an extremely tough grader. You only receive 4 grades in this class on writing assignments. If you are not the strongest writer do not take him. He singles people out in class and does not care if you do not understand a topic. He never puts the grades on canvas so you will not know your grade.

He is a tough grader. I haven't seen one person get an A on any of the papers. They wouldn't know if they got an A anyway because he takes forever to grade papers and doesn't even put the grades on canvas. You can skip class because all we do in that class is write four essays but some classes are beneficial to go to for sources. Don't recommend.

Nice guy but makes you do way too much for an English 2 class. Has you write 3 papers and makes you read between every class. Calls on everyone by name so he makes you participate which made me anxious. Pretty tough grader.

Terrible teacher! He's an english teacher that can't even spell 99.9% of the time. Makes no sense in his grading material and when you ask him a question he looks at like you're dumb. Not only that he makes others read your paper. Does not care how uncomfortable you are with the idea.

Very good Professor. You are going to read and write a lot but it really is not that bad. You really learn a lot from his class on how to write an essay. Grading can be tough but gives plenty of opportunities to review, even so much as himself reviewing your essay and saying what it needs. I was scared going in but enjoyed his class.

Honestly, if you want to be a better writer and a better student-- take this class. If you want to get an easy A, take another. He really is trying to make every student better and clearly takes the time to give specific feedback. He knows how to lead a class. He's brilliant, funny, and thoughtful. Easily one of the best professors at OCC.

Absolutely the worst professor I've ever had. Doesn't not help you at all he degrades you and belittles you to no extent. Bordelon really shouldn't be a teacher very disrespectful gets distracted way to easily and if your 6 page papers don't look the way he wants it forget even considering getting a good grade.

Although I got a C in his class he is my favorite professor I have ever had. He has a way of mixing teaching a college level english class with stand up comedy. I have never left his class without a laugh. He is also brilliant. His passion for reading and writing rubs of on everyone in the class. His class is not easy but I highly recommend it.

Professor Bordelon helped me realize that I love writing. His class was tough but it taught me to write at an entirely new level. If you listen to his instructions on how to revise your paper, you will do very well in his class.

This man was the most influential college professor I've ever had. I took him for both American Lit I and II while attending OCC. He has inspired me to be the best possible writer I could be. I am now majoring in English at the University of Delaware because of his motivation. I can honestly say that even the professors here are not on his level!
