He spent the entire class period lecturing what he was doing his only research on, then he'd mention at the end of class what the readings were on. He didn't explain the homework at all. No one in the class could understand what we were supposed to learn. He was available for office hours, but there were always too many students waiting.

This is the ELang teacher known as the Nazi grader. It's true, he grades pretty hard, but the curve is huge because he knows he grades hard. He is very helpful and explains concepts clearly. He is my favorite teacher of all the linguistics classes I've taken.
