I had Dr. Bruck for both Bio 1 and 3 LABS. He was awesome as far as personality goes. REALLY funny and nice; I joked around with him the whole time. His tests are insanely hard. He is very detailed. My advice: Don't try to cram. Study a little each day, go to his office, and READ the lab manual.

He's definitely the hardest prof I've encountered, but he's a good prof. He's really clear and he tells you everything you need to know for the exams. The thing that makes the class hard is the amount of information he throws at you. He's extremely nice and just wants everyone to do well.

The class was tough. Definitely record the lectures. Some people like the book. I never bought it and got an A- in the class. You can not miss class. it really helps to rewrite your lectures also

He isn't super hard and a clear lecturer, but 50% of his class still failed. Just read the textbook before going to class and record the lectures. It helps to study a little bit everyday.

Enormous amount of knowledge. Hardest class ever taken and shouldn't have. Taken Anatomy and passed easily, class doesn't represent students knowledge of material. Arrogant and brags about is over 50% fail rate. Say we can't touch him with surveys at end of semester

Bruck is great -- he tells you exactly what you need to know and he spent many hours of his free time holding review sessions. Everything on the exams gets covered in lecture but the lectures are very dense. If you go to every class, take good notes, and study off the notes and handouts, you'll destroy the curve and get an A.

Bruck can be very helpful or he can brush you off completely. He often talks too fast so be prepared. He talks about his personal life inappropriately and his behavior and personal discussions can create a hostile classroom environment.

A little fact from this class: 50% students failed his class last semester. So don't think of those great comments from him might help you pass the class unless you're prepared to do tons of readings. He is too lazy to do anything, so his T.A.s have to correct the exams. The graders are somewhat biased!

This class was very difficult, but Dr. bruck is an amazing teacher. Very knowledgable. He makes the material clear and interesting. He also prepares a whole binder of slides for the students so they can see the material while they study. His dog is wasy cool and so is he. Too bad he's a botonist, I'd love to take more classes with him

i love this guy. the material is SO interesting, and he's a good lecturer. if you want to make your life easier, read in the bio 1&2 textbook (campbell) about cells, DNA, proteins, etc. (the first ~18 chapters) before/during the semester. good background makes new material absorb better. tests can get hard,- might want to tape lectures.

Think BOT classes r easy? Think again real hard. When sem was over, u would never ever see plants da same way again! BOT uses a whole new world of term & concepts. So much info it felt like a 4yr BOT degree compacted into a sem. Wish took BOT 103 b4 but its Bruck too and like 102 overheard ALL superhard. 3 killer exams. Friendly nice prof though.

Lectures disorganized.Starts class 25 min late.Goes off topic talking about his personal life.Test questions can be misleading,so it is very helpful to ask for clarity on them if you have ANY doubt as to what is being asked. Book/Tape recorder/office hours did not help. He helps u,but u must synthesize lecture details before asking for assistance

Dr. Bruck is a caring teacher who wants his students to do well. His tests are hard and there are some questions that are confusingly worded, but they come directly from his lecture. To do well on the exams, take down EVERYTHING he says and understand the main concepts by following the reading. Its a hard course and subject and he does a good job.

The worst teacher I've ever had! Tried to get help, but was brushed off numerous times. Overheard him making fun of student's answers. If your going to take this class, your going to have to end up buying a tape recorder just to pass. Overall, waste of students' money.

This is a very good teacher, funny, and very nice. Tests are hard but not impossible. Go to all the lectures, don't miss a single class b/c you might not have to read the textbook and bring a tape recorder and you will do well.
