As everyone says, his lectures are pretty boring. I bombed the midterm, stopped going to class and just studied everything on my own and finished with an A (final mark can replace midterm mark). His exams are fair, just study the lecture notes and the textbook and you will do well.

Prof Cox is definitely very knowledgeable about the subject. Though as a 400-seminar, wasn't much discussion. 1 final paper + in-class presentation. His exams make you think (not direct memorize-spew of info), and he adequately prepares you with his in-depth notes. Easily accessible for questions (responds e-mails pretty quick). Fair grader

You can tell that prof. cox is trying to not be boring. he inflects his voice and gives real-life examples. In spite of which, every time he speaks, I just want to go to sleep. The good thing is that he gives you notes so that you don't have to read the textbook. Stil, it's best not to take his classes. He's the most boring prof I've ever had

His lecture is really boring. You don't need to listen any lectures. Just read your his notes, which is really similar as textbook. Just read notes and hand in assignment. And his exams are fair

Although I found his class boring, he teaches ECON 105 the way it should be taught. He is definitely an easier compared to the other profs. I found the final easier than the midterm. To do well in his class, you should be constantly reviewing the KEY concepts in his lecture notes, read the book and BUY THE STUDY GUIDE!!!!!!!!

People who say his lectures are boring are people who have no interest in Economics. David is an awesome lecturer and gives great explanations of macroeconomic concepts. Read textbook and attend lectures.

his exams are fair. If you study the textbook, you should do well. His classes are boring but he makes up for it by giving easy exams.

Notes are hand written and scanned into a 30 page pdf. file but are very thorough and clear so you can essentially teach yourself. Lectures and tutorials are quite dry and not very engaging - thus only 20-30% of the class actually attends lecture. Exams are MC and long answer, which are difficult but fair. Average mark on midterm 55-65%.

Skipped most of his lectures. Boring lectures. Just buy the textbook and use the study guide. Read it and do questions from the study guide. Got an A on the midterm and studied simply by reading the textbook and doing questions on the study guide. Final is decent as well. Teaches Econ how it should be taught. No complaints here

Easy course, but makes it hard. mid term is fair but final is not really relevant to the material covered in class. Lectures are heavy.

His lectures are long and boring. Rarely attend the lecture. Tips for getting a good grade: READ THE TEXTBOOK AND YOU WILL BE GOOD. I was below average for the midterm cuz I just read his notes. Spend 3 days before the final to go through the whole textbook and got an A for this course.

Lectures were dry, basically read the notes that he posted online. Notes were often unclear and missed some points so it's a smart idea to read the textbook as well. Exams and homework were decent. My main issue with Dave was that he didn't scale or curve the class at the end and the class average was a C. Decent prof and class as far as ECON goes.

He's an alright prof. No need for lectures because his notes and examples in class are literally a copy of the textbook. You don't really need the textbook either other than for the questions and clarification. Assignments are short and easy. Tests are perfectly fair and easy if you do the study guide and study his notes.

Lectures were very dry but useful for the midterm short answer questions so sit in the front to pay attention. There are homework assignments but they are fairly straight forward. Overall, the material itself is pretty easy to understand, but I would not recommend taking this course if it is not mandatory.

Dave's notes are very thorough with everything you need to know. I actually gave up reading the textbook after the midterm because the textbook is extremely dry and instead just relied solely on the notes and listening to his lectures. He is clearly passionate about economics and taught the material well. He won't inspire or amuse but he's solid.

Going to lectures for this class is not necessary as his notes are a copy of the textbook. Exams were not too difficult. Averages are low but it is not hard to do well if you read the textbook, look over his notes, and do the assignment questions. He does not curve his course so don't rely on a low class average to get a good mark in this class.

I find lecture not helpful at all, you really need to put in a lot of time studying. Lectures were very heavy and compacted, if you lose focus, you'll probably miss something important. The prof seems hard to approach, he seems as if he doesn't care about his students but maybe because its such a large class.
