He is a really nice guy & knows his stuff. He can throw you for a curve though on more than one occasion. His class is fun and pretty laid back. He is truly willing to help students if they ask & very understanding. Sometimes he can be sarcastic but he means no harm. Exams are usually take home & aren't too difficult. I highly recommend taking him.

If he actually taught, maybe I could remember some of what the class was about. He constantly makes students teach the class through individual and group presentations. They take forever and that teaching style is not affective. Also Donovan is a bit on the creeper/perv side.

my personal response to these prior commments? false. david donovan is perhaps the lousiest teacher i ever had. he probably wrote these way too generous comments himself. class was a total waste of time. oh, and btw don't buy the textbooks for his first year seminar. you'll only open them once or twice.

GOOOOOOOOOOO Donovan. This man rocks! One of the best classes I have taken here at Etown. He makes you step outside your safe zone by doing all kinds of fun and crazy things during class. You must take this class even if you aren't a com major!

Hey Mr. D, is the man but beware if you take a high level comm class with him. It is HARD and DEMANDING. Difficulty and expectations reminds me of the "old guard" of comm profs, you'll hate it during the semester, but after that you value all that you have learned.
