Dr. Guard has done a total 360 as far as all of the prev. ratings are concerned. His class could be easy if he explained is expectations in the beginning of class,he did not return e-mails, and if I had the time, I'd surely grieve the D+ that he gave me due to his lack of clarity! If you r looking to talk about great coffee-take his class! :(

I don't know what the previous post is talking about. Dr. Guard is by far one of maybe three or four people besides my family members who has made an extreme impact on my life. His enthusiasm for his subject and his students is extremely rare. I wish I could take him again.

Excellent Professor truly brilliant. For those of you who like history this teacher will engage your senses and amaze you with knowledge. Enjoyed the class enormously and loved how short term it was. Took off campus and preferred to do so compared to other teachers who taught the course. If you get a chance take this professor, amazing.

Very funny guy, likes to give you essay form exams which are graded based on how many facts related to the question you can recite and write down on the paper! Not too hard...Extremely entertaining class, and you learn a lot. I would highly recommend!

I think you could sleep through this class and pass (some of my classmates did too.) Not to mention he was hillarious. Seriously, he left us alone for the final and said do what ya gotta do. A fabulous teacher. Very easy. He gets right to the point during the lectures and doesnt give you any information you dont need to know. I didnt go to class all the time and I got a B+ in the class. ALl the quizzes and exams were essays but they were take home so you can use your notes and books. Take him as a teacher, he's awesome.

He doesn't give everyone an A like he says, but if you work hard, you'll probably get one. I had health problems, and missed too many classes, so my grade suffered a lot, but he's understanding and as helpful as possible. Exams are short answer and essay. Know stuff outside of lectures. READ the book, pay attention to him, study and you'll be fine.

BEST TEACHER EVER!!!!!! most fun ive ever had on a fri. at 8am. Dave is very funny and a very cool guy, i wish all my teachers were like him. I learned a lot during this class, if u like laughing and having fun, TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!!!!!

Probably the easiest class you'll ever have if you show up to class, and Dr. Guard does not make that hard to do. Very enthusiastic about the subject and is willing to answer any question and go off on any tangent. Dr. Guard is an awesome professor, who "gives you your money's worth."
