EASY professor, the quizzes are a little tough because they are random things from the week's lectures. Test questions are give before the tests on moodle, pretty easy, not mandatory to go to class, but suggested.

I learned so much in this class. Might not be exciting, but he is an amazing professor and very concerned about his students. You can tell he loves history. You get the test questions a week early, so it's a fairly easy A (essays). Attendance is 100% necessary because the textbook is more of a supplement that you use for examples on your tests.

Not a very exciting class. You need the textbook for his tests. Tests are all essay and must have numerous examples from the textbook. Lindenfeld also stutters and clears his throat a lot and it makes it difficult to follow at times. Good luck in this class!

This class is a nightmare. I dreaded going to it. I am an A student and couldn't get higher than a B+ on his all essay tests. He doesn't grade anything, the TA does. The TA, Scott, is not very nice or helpful. It is a struggle to stay awake in this class, and every class about 7 people fall asleep. I don't recommend this class or this teacher.

A little dry and dull, but not intolerable. He knows what he's doing. Tests are a little difficult and strictly graded, at least when the TA grades. Not the best class ever, but you can get through it.

Old and stutters...lectures for the entire class period....talks fast...explains well...tests are writing an essay about topic he gave to pertaining to the notes from class....i recommend him because you will learn about history without falling asleep. His teacher's assistant is handicapped and grades poorly.

i twice showed up 2 minutes before class started and was turned away at the door. he started denying students from coming in at the beginning of class and throughout his boring lectures. he turned his poor TA into a doorman. overall, very boring, decent grader, all essay tests, but a terrible speaker. lots of throat clearing and 'ahems'

attendance isnt mandatory but his tests questions come right from the notes you get from going to class. 4 exams each semester, all essay. pretty straightforward guy, but don't be late to class, he hates that.

Comment:
The class is oversimplified and for a world history class, is taught with a large western bias. His teaching style is fine-clear and straightforward but he is very rude to students. If you have previous knowledge and a decent understanding of world history, this class will frustrate you.

He was a very interesting professor. Knew the subject matter very well (20th Century Germany). Used powerpoint slides as outlines. Gives you two essay tests but gives you the topics one week in advanced. One 10-page term paper which he graded fairly well. Definitely take him if you like history! Otherwise he is kinda boring. Great outside of class!

He was very dry and boring, and has these insane ticks, coughs and ahems. But it is very east to do good in the class, especially because he gives the questions a week early. Take notes and it is a breeze.

He is a good teacher. His lectures are very drawn out and dry, but he tries to make class interesting. His tests are all essay, gives you 2 possible questions a week before the test. When you take the test, put everything you can think of, he is picky. But no homework besides a little reading, and a term paper on whatever you want at the end.

I loved this class he is straight forward and will research anything if he is not sure of the answer. He is very very fair and the test are so easy because he basically gives it to you a week before. He is really really nice.

didn't care for 100% essay tests and purchasing 4 book on top of the class text was a bit much. Discussion groups were enjoyable but as a shy person I found them to be un-nerving especially when you are graded on your participation.
