Sadly, Lorne's apparently ill enough he's had to quit teaching for the forseeable future, which sucks because going off the semester we had he's a dedicated, intelligent teacher who actually knows how to structure a syllabus! Although, granted that his class is discussion based,it sort of relies on having students who are brave enough to talk.

Great prof. I was a bit skeptical at first of his teaching style (course was almost entirely taught by the class) but I realized i actually learned a lot. He gives you the opportunity to redo essays (i went from a b- to an a-) and is very helpful when you ask him questions. Very encouraging as well. Loved the course.

Cries easily, a very emotional guy. Easy to understand, the class is mainly discussions (can be boring) Essay are generally easy though diff from high school. Definately a easy English class for first years. Course pack readings = USELESS, DON'T BUY IT! Buy the books, 3/4 super easy. Quizes based on BOOKS.

Lorne is such a nice guy, and he does his best to approach all the material with integrity and sensitivity. His eccentricities only serve to lighten the mood. Vivienne and Lorne work great together too, they really play off each others comments, and it makes for an interesting class. Definitely recommended.

Amazing guy. Makes awkward people feel good. (A definite plus!) He'll nod at everything, even if it makes no sense or is plain wrong. He wears different pants every day, they're just the same color... A good class with interesting reading material.

Awesome Prof. Although he is kinda weird. He cried sometimes. When he said you have a minute to think about something he actually timed the minute on a pocket watch. Wore same pants each class. Always had his hands above his waist. He asked everyone opinion and marked very easy then had rewrites for a better grade. Take this class!!!

HE IS AMAZING! Although he is very emotional, I don't see it as a bad thing. He is clearly passionate about what he teaches, and that's crucial. He always tells stories that are somewhat related but so interesting. Although he can be a difficult marker, he gives you the option of rewrites to redeem yourself. All together -- very good prof!

Very intense about the readings and gets emotional easily. He wore the same pants all semester and was a funny guy to watch some of the time. Grammar quizzes were very easy and he gave lots of essay topics and didn't mark too hard. I'm done English for life but if I had to take another course I would go to his.

Really easy class. Essays weren't marked too hard and you get to re-write them. The quizzes were easy and the final was really easy. You don't have to read the books or show up to class to do well. He's a really nice guy even though he can get pretty emotional sometimes and it's a little awkward.

wow-never seen someone cry like that. very easy, although this course was used to brainwash these dorks to the profs left-wing views. everything we read was by a left-wing author, and never heard a more conservative opinion at all. if your conservative stay away: it'll result in walking away from class each day cursing these crazy commies.

Its ok though, his class is so easy (but boring) because all he does is read journals, cry, cry,ask questions and ALWAYS nods his head. ALWAYS. He will agree with you even if your completely wrong!
