Pretty much what I expected. Learned a lot of interesting history about the prairies and indigenous history. Who knew. Bonus is his help with working on writing skills.

An okay course. Pros Very approachable and helpful. Assignments and paper are easy, and he returns them fast and with helpful comments. Cons Lots of reading and memorization. There's no midterm and the final is tough.

Took the online class with him. It was a tough course, but he was very helpful. I even missed the final (mere mix up of dates) and he made sure that I got my exam deferred so I could write it at a later time!

He is a great teacher taking his online class. He was very helpful, even though it is an online class he still gets you to interact with the other students through class discussions

Online Class. I thought he was pretty clear with his notes and was very interesting at times. Incredibly helpful, he actually wants you to suceed in the class (something that a lot of profs dont care about). The material is rather hard, but if you do the readings and keep up youll be fine. Id take another class from him.

Not too bad.He definitely puts you through the paces, but I find the one page assignments to be fairly helpful. The essay topics were not the best, and he seemed very particular in what he wanted. Can't blame him that the material itself is so bloody boring though(Prairie history). He did an alright job with what he had.

Best Prof EVER. Very understanding, and provides great feedback. The structure for this course (which I took online) was really good. I enjoyed having a few smaller assignments along with the big one so the marking scheme was a little less overwhelming. I would definitely take another class from him in the future if I could.

Interesting lectures, knows his stuff and when he doesn't know something he admits it. Second class I've taken from him and would take more.

He knows a lot about Canadian history, especially about native history and northern history. Has expectations, but not unreasonable - after all, this is university. I wish there were more like him around here.

Overall a very good prof. Some students may not like the old fashion style of lecturing(without any visuals)but he is knowledgable about the topic. The course tends to focus on the European history of the prairies and seemingly ignore the First Nations history. The class however is very cramped, as as he puts it there are NS classes to focus on that.

Very dull and doesn't know much Native History. Old fashioned and tend to glorify the British. Not much of a sense of humor, not too flexible on deadlines although his exams are fairly easy if you know the material.

Not a bad prof, but he could def. make teaching history more interesting with a bit of effort. He really seemed to have the marks predetermined in his head, so if you're planning on higher than a 75% be prepared to really bust your hump. I'd take him again if I had to though. Like I said before, there are much worse teachers out there.

Alright, not great. I agree with the 'Eurocentric history' comment. I would never imply he's **** (he's not!), just 'old fashioned' in his approach to Canadian history.

Nice enough guy, but you need a serious interest in the class and a large coffee mug to enjoy it. Does seem to pawn a lot of work off on the TA's. I'd still probably take a class from him, but wouldn't go out of my way to do so.

Dull...turned me off from history ever again. Has his TA do his work for him. Tests were too difficult too.
