The teacher provides way too much reading for this class. If you have other more important classes that you have to take, or you are looking for a class that you are planning on taking as an elective, I do not recommend this class to you. Very nice, but harsh on grading and tests are not easy. Kind of wish I did not take this class at all.

Although I found her class hard because of the extensive reading, she is very understanding and nice. You will need to purchase a book for this course.

Professor Mustaine is a really nice and will help during the discussion, however, this class has a lot of reading and work. Her grading was confusing but I would not recommend taking her class with three other classes. Not enough time is given on her tests to be able to get answers right. like others have written very subjective exam.

She is more concerned with making the class laugh and telling stories about herself that she forgets to teach the lesson. I felt like I was going to a bad comedy show rather than a class. She showed movies and made the subject completely uninteresting. Her tests are really hard as well.

She's funny and keeps the subject light, but her tests are not easy. A lot of nit-picky questions not covered in the study guide. She misses class often, does not respond online very promptly. The class is meant to "challenge" you, but really just makes it more difficult than it needs to be. Will not take her again.

Unless you are immensely interested in the course, don't take her. Most unnecessarily difficult A I've ever earned as a 4.0 student. Exam questions are very difficult and picky. Only 3 exams to decide your grade. The only extra credit assignment is graded very harshly. She curves by very little. She's nice enough, but not worth taking.

As long as you read the book and show up to/pay attention in class, it's really not that bad. If you have an A by the time the final comes around, she'll just give you the A without having to take the final.

The class Is not a terrible class. I got an A, but you are teaching yourself the whole time. I'm disappointed that I payed for some one to tell me what chapter to read and then test me. Don't bother reading the book either. The quiz answers are small facts scattered in the chapter, so no need to really understand any concepts or ideas.

Her class is very difficult.I took Women in Law and Social Change.Being a feminist I expected to already have a grasp on all the issues that women have and continue to face but her class was still eye opening. If you're a hard-working student take her class. If you're anything like me you don't want an easy A,you want one you can be proud of.

I really do not understand why or how Dr. Mustaine has negative reviews. It's all crap. She has clear expectations. Show up, take notes, read the book & you'll pass the exams, just like any other class. There's an optional paper. She's also really funny & has a sarcastic sense of humor; I laugh all class long. She's very clear & helpful.

I took her for a social problems class online. Very easy, there were 2 papers, 12 quizzes, and 2 tests (each with a short answer portion). They were graded very generously. Had to post a discussion on each chapter but over all the class wasnt hard. She's interactive over discussions and email. Good professor!

the testing was unfair due to not explaining if the multiple choice was all the above or one choice. She never gave the grade you deserved either.

This was one of the best online courses I have taken. She clearly laid out her expectations the first week of class and they were dead on. If you read the chapters and participate in the discussions you will have no problem earning a good grade in this course. She actively participates in the discussions too, unlike other online courses.

DO NOT take this professor!!!! I am a law major/sociology minor and this has been my hardest class yet. She doesn't even know the difference between a legally binding holding and the sociological implications of a case. She merges them together in some odd hybrid. You have to "infer" every answer to her tests which are impossible to do in 50 min.

One of my worst professors ever. I am usually a straight A student, but could barely maintain a decent grade. Took sociology of Law, and not only would she not stay on topic, she could not pronounce any of the legal terms...yet was extremely picky on her tests. Questions extremely subjective too. She had no idea what was going on half the time.

Took Sociology of Law, She openly admitted that she had only taught the class online before. Her attempt at face to face instruction was a failure. Attending every lecture, reading the whole book and studying for hours still wont get you a decent grade on her confusing exams.

WORST professor ever. Sure she is nice and can be funny but she talks in circles OFF TOPIC, provides information that is UTTERLY USELESS when its time to test and her tests are completely incomprehensible. If it's an open book test and the class average is still 55% on the MC section THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOUR TEST WRITING SKILLS!

Took her for the Honors course in violence. She was laid back and funny, and I had a great time in her class, but we got off topic too often and she was not that clear about what was expected of us. Two exams, a final, and a presentation don't provide much room for trial and error either. Just expect to keep yourself on track for the most part.
