Best professor I've had at EIU so far. I have his 8am class and I honestly look forward to it every Tuesday and Thursday. Keep up with the reading, participate in class, and work hard on your papers and you should be fine.

Absolutely love Dr. Raybin. Some of the reading can be difficult, but he makes it interesting and walks you through it. I always looked forward to class. He isn't a particularly hard grader. If you show up to class and participate you'll get a good grade. Everyone should take him.

I did pretty good on the papers, but keeping up with the reading (ovid, and similar hard reading) was very hard because you have to read and reread things. He isn't a bad teacher, just be prepared for quizzes and be knowledgeable with your papers

This is the best professor I've had yet. This class is was at 8a.m. and yet it was the only one I went to EVERY TIME. He made what could easily be boring into something fun, and his choice of reading selections is great. He's sympathetic and a real sweetheart, yet, I learned so much in his class! If he was 30 years younger I would marry him!

such a good teacher. He is so funny and makes the class really interesting. He basically gives you the answers to the quizzes during the class discussion so if you go to class you will pass all the quizzes. He is also a pretty easy grader. I really enjoyed his class...take him!

sure, he's a smart man but his lectures are pointless and his tests are completely ridiculous. He picks the most obscure passage from one of nine works (at midterm) and expects you to know everything about it. we don't even talk in class about its significance yet that's what he expects on his tests. The final is comprehensive and sucks!

Raybin is AWESOME! He is so passionate about teaching about literature, and he makes it come alive. He really helps you dive in and discover more than just what's on the surface, he is clear on papers and assignments and very helpful. I can't wait to take him again!!!
