Professor Stovall is the best professor at UIC. You will never get bored attending lectures. He makes the lectures very entertaining as well as informational. The class is not powerpoint based like most classes. It is a discussion of the readings, events that lead up to the readings, and current events.

Comment:

His passion and dedication for the topic of education for minority students made this course enjoyable. I actually looked forward to this class because they were actual discussions on real day to day issues in our communities. There were a couple of written out assignments throughout the semester and a final paper.

I actually took Stovall's class when I was in high school for dual enrollment credit.The course was around educational social justice and it was one of the best classes of my life. I now attend U of I in Champaign going into my senior year and I have yet to meet a professor who speaks with the passion and diction that David Stovall has!

I'm currently in Stovall's class. He is very entertaining and holds a short discussion that gets the group talking. He discusses topics that aren't advertised about today's educational system. He's very passionate about his work and effectively teaches students about today's ed system. I highly recommend Stovall. I will take more of his classes.

great lecturer and performer. you will be exposed to lots of injustices and flaws of the educational system. He wont use the whole class period. he is not good at keeping a discussion going; he talks most of the time, but it's cool b/c he's a good performer. I will miss this class (If I get an A.)
