Professor Terpstra is a nice guy but if you are taking him for HUMR 429, get ready to not learn anything "current". He gives you articles from the 90's that HE wrote and wants you to do your group presentations/reports based off of the content in them. He will mark you down on your reports if you use the book instead of his OUTDATED articles.

Dr. T was great; he tried to have humor in his lectures and definitely is on the level with students. Speaks really fast and flies through lectures. Tests and projects were the difficult part. Ensure you check your group project before submitting it to him or you will miss out on points. Grades on serious curve. Would take for HR again.

Terpstra is an awesome guy, very kind and helpful. However, he speaks extremely quickly during lectures and he mumbles (A LOT)! He gets through lectures very quickly, I had him for a two hour class two days a week and the longest I was ever in class was at most an hour. Overall though he is very helpful and the class is very easy. Grades on a curve

Really liked this prof. If you stay after lectures to work on your group work he is totally thrilled and will help you out A LOT. He gets through lectures quick which is really nice. 4.0 in this class and I studied a mediocre amount of time. Honestly just ask if you need clarification. He's quiet but kind. Would take him again no question.

He's a great teacher- gets across all of the main ideas so you don't have a bunch of specific nonsense to remember for the length of the quarter and then forget as soon as you're out. He's awesome! Doesn't kill you with boredom and doesn't drag the class out. Definitely will take him again if can.

Really enjoyed this class! Pay attention to how he wants you to set things up and thouroughly explain what you mean in all of your papers, don't just expect him to guess... We had 5 presentations/papers, which were done in groups, and 3 tests. No final, which helps make things easier!

Refuses to help students outside of class. Biased grading system, grades on how well he likes you. Tests cover only his opinions of topics, the book is useless. Bring a tape recorder, he tests on trivial facts mentioned off-handedly in class.

Very strange grader, had for a previous HR class, did equal work and got a 4.0, this quarter did better and got a 3.4. He tells you exactly what to put in your group project and then says it is wrong and fails you. Very boring didn't learn enough to get a real HR job

Hands out alot of his own articles, he is very impressed with himself. If you argue with him you will damage his ego. He graded our group very unfairly and based it on whether or not he liked us. He is incredibly rude and told me that I was wasting his time and that I was too stupid to write a paper correctly. AVOID HIM!!!

if you have 427 and 328 behind you, this class is mostly an easy review. he hands out a lot of scholarly journals... read them before class and take notes on them for the tests, and this class will fly by. sometimes group projects can be a bit tough
