Comment:
I took World Religions with Wyatt some years ago and found the class very interesting. I'm not religious and had no trouble with 'preaching' or anything of the sort. I'll admit his knowledge wasn't as deep on some religions, but he assigned excellent reading material. Class discussions were fun and spirited.

Took this course some years ago and really enjoyed it. I'm an atheist and I don't recall any pushing of Christianity. I remember he used it to compare with other religions, which makes sense in Abbotsford and for the course. 20 page paper was a lot of work, but well worth it!

He is quite possibly the worst professor I have ever encountered. If you desperately seek to believe that christianity is the one true religion and that David Wyatt should retire, take his course. I would sooner set myself on fire than listen to his bible thumping and preaching to his flock. Do what moses should have done, avoid like the plague!!!!

I found his class to be incredibly informative. Yes, he is a difficult marker, but if you attend his class and do the assigned reading, there is absolutely no reason for your grade to suffer. You can easily see the passion he has for his field of study. And as for the 20 page essay... it is an optional paper made for students who desire bonus-marks

Wyatt seems like a good guy. Unfortunately, this was my least favorite class last semester. However, it was the class I was most looking forward to. I was extremely disappointed. It was very boring and monotonous. The tests are extremely vague! That was the WORST part of this class!

The most unhelpful teacher I have had in my 4 years at UCFV. He makes a FIRST YEAR class write a 20 page paper. He made me never want to take anthropology again.

world religion thought was going to be fun but not. reads from his notes and he gives u a recipie card for the tests so he makes the tests really hard cus he thinks we have all the answers in front of us on this card. it was an ok class i did learn something but the test were very hard :(

I was interested in the topic but the class was boring. He would take forever relaying a simple idea. I would've liked more time spent on religions other than Christianity. The exams were also very specific and akwardly worded.

Dave is a bit quirky (hard of hearing and easily misunderstands what his students intentions are) but I found him entertaining. He definately is "crotchety" but that wasn't a problem for me. I found that if I did my readings and payed attention in class, I did fine. Don't try and call out in class or talk over him, he will get angry!

He is a horrible teacher, and actually, a horrible person. He is old and crotchety and it is quite obvious that he hates his job. Even emailed our whole class a three page nasty email about how aweful UCFV students are and we had to respond before he would give us our grades. Ruined a class i was really looking forward to.

If you aren't chirstian, run for the hills! I was so excited to take this course, took it solely out of interest but he not only compares everything to his religion but even implicitly and explicitly degrades other ones. Smart guy, knows his stuff and has good intentions but waay too biased and unable to convey his knowledge or answer questions.

takes a really long time to make simple points. compares everything to christianity, because he is obviously christian. not enough time spent on certain religions causing most people to do not so well on exams. plus his exam questions are weirdly specific sometimes. like he'll ask you for exact wording of prayers? not enough emphasis on concepts.

He is extremely unhelpful. Ask him a question, he ignores it. He is deaf, and so makes any feel like you cannot ask questions. The class itself was fairly easy - does let you have cheat sheet. Takes him hours to say barely anything. Boring. Lots of out-of-date vidoes to watch. If can, take someone else! (especially if interested in subject)

If you actually studied you will find the exams very easy. I too found David to be funny and loved the class discussions, good group of people. Perhaps some of you should have taken classes on cheese nmaking so you could have serve it with your wine(ing). You are adult learners arent you?????

He's simply the rudest most insolent prof I have EVER had to deal with EVER! Each time you ask a question you either get "I don't know" and he skips to the next topic, or he gives you unclear responses with no chance for clarification...I really looked forward to taking this class, but now he has made me hate my life. *beating head against wall*

Worst teacher I have ever had in my life. I hope he retires soon so no one else has to suffer through his horrible religion and culture class. I certainly hope he has stopped bible thumping. Humourless and boring sum up his teaching style. IF you don't have to get taught by this guy, don't, your GPA will thank you.
