Dawn is hands down the best professor I have had and perhaps even the best teacher too. Not only does she teach well, but she does so in a way that ignites our curiosity and makes us realise and think about life in a new light. Her class is the only one that I looked forward to going to. Never gotten below an A+ from her

I think Dawn is one of the most genuine profs Ive ever had. She marks tough, however, she is fair. I would take another class with her in a heartbeat.

Dawn is a fantastic prof. Literary theory can be an absolute drag but the way she teaches is wonderful - she's incredibly knowledgeable on the subject! Also, Dawn genuinely seems to care about her students. If you put in some effort, there is a lot to be gained from her classes. I wish I had discovered her classes sooner.

Dawn is a very kind and caring professor, but her course is dull. (If you are interested in aboriginal studies I do recommend this course.) All the readings were First Nations based. Something of which I am not particularly interested in.

Dawn's exuberance about theory cannot be understated. She helped to turn what could be a very dry, dull course into a fun and engaging class where every student's contribution (even if only confusion) was valued and encouraged. She is quick to offer help and feedback, and just an overall kind and lovely person. Highly recommended.

Dawn is a wonderful professor. Not only are her expectations clear, she is always willing to help if you need it. Her passion for English is contagious, not to mention, she brings treats for Halloween and Christmas oranges for the final! She is a wonderful professor and I look forward to more of her classes, as I am an English major.

Dawn is fantastic! She is so enthusiastic and full of energy. In front of the class, you can see her mind whirling and making connections. Her discussions are really interesting and I always enjoyed going to class to hear what was going to be said. She's very approachable - gives lots of feedback. Get her to go over your essay before turning it in!

Hard but fair marker. I got an F on my final paper for not having enough citations. Enthusiastic lecturer. Good at analysis and evaluation, very helpful. Interactive teaching style. I thought the conceptual scope her selection of readings was a little narrow. I expect commonalities in the readings but I felt they were too similar.

Grammer is extremely important. Marks tough. It took me awhile to get used to her style. It is not about the stories, but the common connections between all novels. Loves to explore ideas with the class. Great teacher but she is very different. Not for everyone. I would take another class with her.

Ok, so I knew dawn before I took her class. I genuinely liked her as a human being. As a prof however, I feel that she is lacking in flexibility at times and should perhaps not teach native literature if she is going to continue to make ethnocentric remarks about Native cultures. Other than that, she's really not as bad as some of you claim.

Dawn will challenge you and ask you to support what you are saying...this means that class time is valuable she knows how to run a classroom and doesn't allow people to dominate with B.S. One visit to her in the writing center (before she was my prof) brought my papers up a full grade letter...she is tough but fair an A from her is worth the work!
