Most boring class I've EVER taken. Lectures are so hard to understand. He loves to hear himself talk and goes on and on the entire 2 hour lecture period. 2 papers and a final exam. Didn't take a single note because there was no point. He told us the final was all recall 2 days before the test and had to know names of directors as well as QUOTES

One of (if not) my favorite professors while at IONA. Minored in FILM STUDIES so I took a lot of his classes. He is an intellect to say the least; if you are willing to attend class and show some interest you will do well. His tests are a little tedious so pay sharp attention. There's something wrong with you if you don't like Dean DeFino.

Pop quizzes you do not need to read the books as long as you listen to what he is saying the class before you will be golden for the quiz. Final Exam was super easy only about 10 questions. Other than that class was great I would take him again!

He goes over the whole book, then you have to write an essay due every Fri (as part of the hybrid course.) I willingly took him for 2 semesters. He isn't insane with the workload like other Eng profs. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

This guy is one of the smartest english teachers i've ever had. barely read a book on the syllabus but still did well and understood everything from only his lectures. class can get boring, but if you take notes and pay attention, you'll do fine. tests are fairly simple, since he tells you exactly what he wants, but he does like detail.
