Amazing professor, great topics, thought provoking discussions, she was clear about what her expectations are in presentations or essays. The books are ones I will keep and recommend to family and friends. Loved this class and how Debian doesn't impose her thoughts on students and how much i got out of this class.

Dr. Marty leads by example. She reached out to me before I was even enrolled and once I took the course I realized that it wasn't veneer. She is truly one of the most inspiring people I've ever met. It could have been because of my own curcamstances but I found her courses life changing. I recommend that everyone enjoy one of her courses.

This class is truly amazing. Debian challenges the student to become a better writer and a better communicator. Discussions are dynamic and engaging and she always made sure everyone had a chance to "Jump in". She has a kind heart and is highly accessible for questions or concerns. Debian is a professor that wants to see you develop both emotionally and intellectually. She is also unyielding in her standards.If you're not a good/critical writer, don't take her, and proof read everything! You HAVE to participate in class, there is no fluff work, discussion, or reading. Wonderful woman and professor. Wish i could take more.
