The worst professor that I have seen. Quick tempered , Partial, poor lectures and does not even help all the students. I will never recommend this guy to anyone.

I have been in college for 5 years now, and out of all the profs I had in that time, Deid Reimer was the worst. His feedback on assignments is nearly non existent, and his marking rubrics are almost never provided. He often will dock marks for things that students didn't even do wrong, and the student has to fight him to get the marks back. Awful.

No textbook, he provides his own notes, and they're terrible. Most of it's out of date because he's too lazy to update his notes with up-to-date information. Instead he will edit his notes and say 'this is out of date, not sure how it works now'. He's rude, unhelpful..I could go on if I had more room. 0 out of 10 would not recommend.

His online classes are horrible. You read addendum after addendum on old notes with no clear path through. There are mandatory participation marks in the forums in topics that are not particularly useful because people just post bare minimums for marks. He doesn't even show up to class and help.

Died is by far the worst instructor I have ever encountered. His instructions are vague and his feedback is vague. The online notes are practically novels and the individual words may be in English, put together they are not. Be prepared to read everything word for word, then reread it 8 times. If you ask a question he'll simply talk down to you.

Beyond useless. Refuses to answer questions in labs. Kind of a prick. Prefers teaching online courses. Survival strategy: minimize interactions with Deid. Band together with classmates in learning course material. Exploit tests by answering his 'weekly quiz' questions in a group, and memorizing answers.

Deid is a teacher I have grown to appreciate. Once you are he sees that you are engaged and putting in effort, he will be respectful and helpful. As a newbie in 1st year CST, I found him to be prickly. Just think of him as Linux in human form and you'll be fine.

On-line course. A lot of people insist it's difficult, but rather Deid makes you figure some things out yourself. Sounds harsh, but you learn and you remember. Best first-year course -- you feel like you accomplish something. As always, Deid is quick to engage the passionate and interested. Great instructor.

Ugh. He can be great at times and horrible at others. If you have him for a class involving labs, if you don't get there before 8:30 he is USELESS. His mind wanders every other second, and unless you manage to catch his attention with something mind-boggling, you will become infuriated with his teaching style.

Absolutely not helpful in labs. When you ask for help in labs, all he replies is "what do u think?". Sometimes have to wait 2-3 labs before he will finally let you demo. Even when he says he will let you demo lab, he gets lost walking to your pc and will get sidetracked.

He seems to be getting worse as an instructor with every passing day. His labs are useless "fend for yourselves" style. Lab descriptions will be one or two sentences for 3 to 5 hours worth of work. Ask him for help and he treats you like an idiot for not knowing everything about PHP. He's also madly in love with Linux!
