Excellent, and helpful prof- definitely the kindest and most approachable professor of my entire first semester in university. As well, bot h exams were extremely straightforward, and he is very helpful in clarifying anything that students ask for. Would definitely recommend.

The lectures are way to fast paced. He says something is important but does not give time to let us write it down. So going to lectures has no point since this class is mostly self-taught instead of prof to student teaching.

Lectures are VERY dry and boring. Though, the two essay topics were interesting. All the tutorials were interesting, as well, his TA's are fair markers. If you REALLY study the midterm questions he provides in advance, you'll do fine. Though, I'd suggest going over lectures and the textbook readings alone, attending lecture did not help.

It's easy in the sense that the prof provides you with the midterm and exam questions in advance, however, I think this was his first time giving out the questions. Without the questions, this course would have been very difficult to pass. If he hadn't provided those questions, there would be a lot of reading.

He is hard to understand but if you show up to class and put in a bit of effort youll be fine. The midterm was a breeze and the exam wasnt that hard either. The papers get graded by the TAs and he has high criteria for them so they are a bit harder. You need to show up for tutorials and do the work and participate to get 20%.

I often felt really confused in this class because lecture slides were vague or I couldn't understand what he was saying. The tests were easy to pass though because he gave us the questions he was going to ask, which was extremely helpful. Seems like a nice guy but accidentally sent that controversial email to the students instead of the TAs, lol.

Best prof I had first year. Dr. Guzina did an excellent job forming lectures discussing relevant and interesting topics in politics. He also clearly wants his students to succeed and does an incredible job preparing you for the midterm and final. As a first year poli sci student he really made me feel like I picked the right major.

Very intelligent professor. He definitely knows his stuff. Also very understanding. Would highly recommend him, just be aware that you need to work hard to get a good mark. Readings are necessary and so is attendance.

I got B in his 205 but got A- in 206. He said he got A+ in his master's at Ottawa University, but it's weird because he himself never gives away A+. He's intelligent, but you need to work your ass off to get A- in his class. No joke.

Guzina is FANTASTIC. I was so intimidated by him when we first met because he is so intelligent. But he isn't stuck up about it and tries to help you if you ask. His lectures are interesting and well-prepared. I loved how he didn't use a traditional textbook, but rather used journal articles and books written by prominent economists. Great course!!
