Such a great prof. This can be a tough course with any prof so its good to take it with someone whom you'll love. He is very intelligent and has a great open atmosphere in the class. He allows a 5/3 note card on tests full of whatever which helps for his tests which can be tricky. Just know basic and big concepts, show up, and enjoy!

Professor Ratzsch's sense of humor made the class for me. I was going to drop the class because I didn't need it for core, but I enjoyed the class to much to do so. Ratzsch's class is difficult; he's a really tough grader so you have to know EVERYTHING on the study sheet he hands out. But if you take good notes and study really hard, you'll be okay

This guy knows what he's talking about, but he's so disorganized and very unclear on what he wants. We would have concepts on the study guide that he never talked about. I had to Google half the study guide. DON'T TAKE HIM! He's hard and he laughs when you fail. Stay away from him...

He does have a good sense of humor, but his grading style is ridiculous. He will take off partial credit on almost every question. Another problem is his handwriting is extremely hard to read. Homework is easy though...

I LOVE PROF. RATZSCH! He has a really great sense of humor coupled with a great teaching style. Everyday it's something new and intriging! He even throws us some chocolate sometimes. The class itself is pretty interesting and easily learned if you come to class and take good notes. I would DEFINATLY recommend you take Ratzsch!

One of the best teachers/professors I have ever had. He has a great sense of humor, is obviously intelligent, and is very clear and helpful. The class itself is worthwhile for any student, regardless of major.

Ratzch is HILARIOUS. He's got some great stories. Logic with him was always fun, although a word of advice...study hard. Though classtimes are easy and amusing and wonderful and full of chocolate and sarcasm, the tests are some of the most difficult I have taken....

His class is lecture style, which for philosophy can be very boring. He's a nice guy and is certainly funny, but his notes are incoherent and his tests are rather difficult. He's not too bad, but I think there are easier profs.

Prof. Ratssch is AWESOME! He's extremely helpful, and makes philosophy fun, and easy to comprehend. His dry humour is hillarious, and adds a lot of life to the subject. He totally loves ferrits, and draws hillarious pictures on the board! TAKE THIS PROF for 153!!!

He is very excited about Philosophy, and is always willing to hear what his students think. He thinks cats are better than dogs, though, so that's a bad thing :) .

While his class was funny and entertaining, his exams are almost impossible. Plan on recalling every single detail about every single definition and theory. Grades on a curve though!
