Wow, the best prof I have EVER had. No interest before the class, but I fully enjoyed this class. We finished the material early, and I continued going to class because he made it interesting. Very clear, very concise. Take any course with him that you can, amazing.

Great Prof, nothing bad about him at all. Lots of notes but u feel compelled to write them all down. Takes time to learn names of students and is a great character, too bad he will be retiring soon. Make sure u have a favorite Greek letter.

He's clear and concise, and explains things well, but he goes WAY too fast. I have twice as many nots for this class as I do for other classes. This makes lectures hard to follow. Overall, though, quite good.

Sjerve is excellent; the prof you should take. His assignment tips are very helpful. You might not appreciate it right away but by the end of the course you will. Don't blame a lack of understanding of the material on a prof, get used to not understanding until you go over it a few times.

This is one of the hardest courses in UBC. He was a nice guy who tried to help, but the textbook was a much better prof. He only taught useless theory. If he ever did start an example he wouldn't finish it because he would run out of time

Great prof! Midterms and exams weren't easy but his lectures are clear. Don't even need the textbook, just study off from his assignments and you'll do well. **hint** some midterm questions are from the assignments. Had him for math 100 and glad too!

I really disliked his midterms. I was rushed for time and his marking scheme (3/10 on a quesion for missing a - sign) cost me way too much.

he's notes are a bit shotty and random at times, but he has good pace puts everything in the notes, and demistifies the midterms and finals prettymuch telling you what's gonna be on them. Study the examples that he says are important during lecture!good
