Comment:

She is now the dean of political science. Her international relations class was depressing, but important because the class will break down any biases you may have. After that class I have a better view of the world. She is extremely knowledgeable and has done a lot of work with nuclear waste in St. Louis and the Palestine conflict. Great Prof!

She does an awesome job of teaching this class. She makes it interesting and fun at the same time. She knows what she is talking about. She explains things appropriately for a level 100 class, so even though she knows a lot, she doesn?t treat you like an idiot. She tries to stay neutral, which is hard in a Poly Sci class.

One of the best professors I've had here at SIUE. I enjoy going to her classes, because she makes learning enjoyable. She has alot of real world experience, and is passionate about what she is teaching. She's always been helpful, and willing to meet with me if I had questions. If you want to get your money's worth out of a class, take her!

If you are on her good side you will have to do little to nothing to pass. If for some reason she doesn't like you, and you do all the work, you still might not pass. Words of Caution play the game=passing. A Psych major who never came to this class got a B but was good @ writing papers.

The best professor that I have ever had. She is extremely knowledgeable, relates material to everyday occurrences, and provides her own experience to the lectures. She will help you with anything and is always available. She answers emails quickly and will do anything for you. Read the book, take notes, and you will be fine.

She is crazy, a IS course can be taken by anyone, but she makes it so that if you haven't had extensive world history and poly sci classes you wont know what's going on, she is way out of line, do not take her if you are not a poly sci major.

Lots of fun, very personable and helpful, her door is always open and there are always students in there getting help or just talking about all kinds of things, politics, what they're doing after school, she will bend over backwards to help you if you will try your hardest to help yourself.

Awesome class! The simulation requires a lot of work but it is worth it. Dr. Degarmo is a great professor. She's funny and has a laid back style of teaching. Never a dull moment. Dr. Degarmo is probably my favorite professor at SIUE.

Degarmo is by far the best and most interesting teacher in the POLS dept. If you have the chance to take 370 and do the simulation, def. do it. Its not nearly as much work as she says, plus the rest of the assignments are cake. Easy B, very possible A.

No one on this prof is being untruthful. This gal teaches a subject that is dryer than sand and makes it a cake walk. You will get intrested in class and participate no matter how you felt before about poly-sci. she makes tha class easy because she increases your knowledge of the subject painlessly. She is just awesome!!!!!
