He's super awesome! His way of teaching is extremely effective. I'm taking organic chem 131 with him and it's a tough course but his lectures make it a easier to understand and keeps it interesting! I never fall asleep in Dr. Ryan's class! He's retiring this year, but I had to say he's the best thing that EVER happened to CHEMISTRY, EVER!!!!

I can't stand him. I asked him for help on a lab and he laughed at me and said to figure it out on my own. I would NEVER take another class with him, he was terribly mean and made fun of students who did not understand. You know, we all dont have 35 chem degrees.

Dr. Ryan is an AWESOME professor! He is very enthusiastic about chemistry and his overall personality is HYSTERICAL. His tests/quizzes are very challenging, but he curves and I still got an A. Dr. Ryan is flexible with office hours and very helpful if you ever decide to go. This is the bottom line: participate a lot and you will be rewarded.

He's crazy, his lectures are childish yet still only someone with a PHD would fully understand them. He put a 40 point curve on our last test and the average was still a 60. On top of that he does not care if you are doing poorly. I asked for help because people said he would be happy to. He told me to withdraw. Not THE worst, but pretty awful.

Class was definitely harder than BCHM162, but Prof Ryan made the time go by fast and somewhat enjoyable. Makes the class participate, makes fun of us, gives us extremely long and somewhat hard exams but in the end, is very generous with his grading. I would definitely take another class with Prof Ryan!

Really smart guy. Knows chemistry extremely well. Sometimes he is alittle confusing when he teaches because he knows it so well, he forgets that it's hard for us to understand. Very helpful and a really nice guy. Go to office hours and he'll help you out. Tests are curved because they are really hard. READ THE TEXTBOOK <-- A MUST

Class is really hard. Attendence is mandatory to attempt to pass. If you dont have like 15 hours a week (the was a 1 hour class that met 4 times a week)or better to put in, then its not going to be easy, u will fail. NO EXTRA CREDIT, PRETTY MUCH NO PARTIAL CREDIT ON QUIZES. 1 quiz a week, 4 tests and a final. funny, nice guy, hard class

Hes energetic n funny but not easy with grading. Do the homework problems, its the only way to do well. You will not get whats going on if you dont do the homework...gives a quiz every tues, has 4 tests no midterm and a final. nice guy, easy to approach, will help you if u ask 4 it

AMAZING TEACHER...really knows what he is talking about...makes class fun and tries to make it so you learn and not fall asleep...took a really hard subject and made it easier for me and my classmates...if you need help learning hard material take him he is great after class is over!
