SUCH AN INTERESTING MAN! Ask him about his time in prison while in Franco's Spain, or the time he took a bullet, or when he was in a nuclear sub. Very caring man. Easy class as long as you put in minimal (and I mean MINIMAL) work. Tender and such sweetheart. Only issue is he talks a little slowly, so it can be hard to pay attention.

I would describe as a discussion-based philosophy class and a relatively easy A. Taylor is kind and knowledgeable, however, he does not give very much/good feedback on written assignments. Listen to P. Taylor, although monotone he has a lot of great stories and ideas. LOTS of reading, and I guarantee nobody's read them all. Good basis for ES majors

Took Living with the Environment as my Sharpe seminar, entirely discussion based. Sometimes the class discussions were interesting, but it was mostly 15 freshmen trying to "out-nature" each other. Daily journals and several essays (allows you to turn in a rough draft first). A very nice and interesting professor, would not take this class again.

I had him last year for my Sharpe class seminar. Lectures are insanely disjointed, course material is vague, and the difficulty of being in a class where discussion is stimulated through ideology versus pragmatic approach is off-putting. Very reading heavy and overall something freshman should avoid if they want a good start at the college.

Professor Taylor is a good teacher that makes you think about Nature in a different way. He's not a particularly hard grader, but be warned: he tends to assign a good deal of material and at times it can seem confusing or repetitive. If taking Marx and Nature with him, be prepared to read. Only take if you are really interested in delving in.

DTay is the BEST guy! I loved having a class with him. Professor Taylor is one of those people who will change your views on life. He has wonderful stories and helps you to think about who you are and what you are doing with your life. Sometimes the papers take some time, and we had to journal which was really more tedious than anything.

I had this guy for intro to environmental science and policy, and he's the worst. The lectures are boring, and his power points are useless when it comes time to study. You can look up information from his slides on Wikipedia.

had him for my freshman seminar for sharpe. always helpful, his voice tends to drone but if you can listen he has really insightful things to say. grades easy for all the essays (I got As on all of them) more concerned about your personal development than your grade. overall he's a sweet guy and reminds me of a teddy bear :)

He's a really nice, brilliant, chill professor... except a bunch of us fall asleep in his class. We have daily journals and bi-weekly essays to keep, so the homework isn't that bad; it's the "lively" discussions during class. He's a really nice professor overall.

Prof. Taylor is very nice, and very easy. He grades papers leniently and his class is fun. Easily one of the smartest profs I've had, great class, take it, if nothing else in Sharpe was any good, this class was.

Looks at nature and the environment in ways I never imagined. One of the smartest professors I have. Loves his subject, but can lose himself at times in a philosophical riff. Very fair on grades. A fun class where I am learning more than I have ever thought about.
