There were so many assignments that came with the essays. Does not give good feedback and is a very harsh grader. She does not let you leave class even if you have to go to the bathroom. Overall, she is so rude, boring, and requires so much pointless work from her students. If you take this class you need to work hard just to get a passing grade.

I took her for both World Literature and Film. Her film class was MUCH better than World Lit but she gives out an insane amount of work for both. She's a tough grader and it almost feels like she doesn't read all your papers fully. Her world literature class was boring and she made you feel dumb for having a different understanding of poetry.

Took her for Film and World Lit. A MILLION papers and she grades them extremely harshly. Gives out a billion handouts per class and World Lit is extremely boring that i literally start to fall asleep. you really REALLY have to do well on the papers, participate and understand poetry and old books.

She's okay, she really makes it hard for you to get an A, you invest all this time and work into your paper and she rips it apart with D's and F's. She is also very condescending and rude, personally I am not a fan of her.

Tbh I did not know her class was a film class until she told us the first day. But anyways, I must she assigns quite alot of workload so for those who might struggle do not take her. On the other hand, she is helpful so if u need help on her essays or paper she immediately answers ur questions whether it be email or in her office.

4 movies in class and 1 on your own that your write a minimum 7 page paper on, you'll hate yourself for loving it. You don't need the book, at all. There's a lot of work, but it's not a hard class and she is there to help you " I don't make house calls"

I like her as a person. She's really cool, very theatrical, and I'm obsessed with her clothing fashion. She's also tough, which I respect. Don't expect to pass without putting in the work, showing up to class, and participating.

If you are looking for a a humanities film elective, I would take her survey cinema courses. It was a pleasure going to her class. So relaxed. Excellent discussions, no exams. We got to watch old movies. She is also really nice. Just note that there are papers to do but they are not difficult. If you know what you are doing you should get an A!

I can understand why students like her. Her grading is fair and she's pretty straight forward. For me, I'm just not crazy about her. She is a bit boring and gives out multiple assignments for a day. Her film class is great when it comes to the old movies we watch and she does have a vast knowledge about it. She just a bit bland for me, sorry guys.

Very good professor and opened my eyes by eating me the importance of literature. Very interesting and I recommend going to class, because she explains all the readings in class and it will help you with the 2 essays and study questions. The class can seem overwhelming at times, because the study questions require higher thinking and are complex.

She is so passionate about film, which made me passionate about film. I took her english 122(film) on a whim, and it was one of the best decisions I made this semester. Be prepared to write and get all of your work in. She's a fair grader and very helpful. I have a new found love for black and white film, and will be taking her cinema studies class

Lasky has to be one of the best teachers I've had at MCC. Her workload is a little much, but do able. I definitely recommend her for ENG or any of her cinema study courses, just do all of what she asks and you'll love the class and her very fair grading system.

Took her for the third time, Professor Lasky is an awesome and passionate teacher. She loves cinema, and is very knowledgeable about the history of film. Some things get repetitive, but thats what happens if you take her 3 times! Her film viewings are great, never thought I would love classics that much!

I'm not sure Prof. Lasky really cares about grading papers. She put the same comments on both essays I got back, word for word. I spoke to a few classmates as well and their papers had the same things. It's like she just stamps "This paper is clear and polished and a real pleasure to read" at the end of each paper. She's liberal too, so that's bad.

Professor Lasky is a wonderful teacher, who is fair, well-prepared and passionate about what she teaches. I had her for Survey of Amer. Cinema and I only wish she offered more classes moving forward. No class is ever easy BUT with hardwork you should have no problem earning an "A" I would recommend her class to anyone.
