Devin talks too much. There is so much time that just goes to him explaining things, and half the time people a) arn't listening or b) don't really care, so it becomes a waste of time. He is a nice guy but doesn't demand anything from you (this is band I'm talking about). I don't learn much from this guy.

Devin is an all around great professor. He has a true passion for music and teaching and it radiates off of him all the time. He definitly knows his subject well and is available for extra help whenever you may need it. You can tell that he cares about his students and them succeeding.

Devon probably has the ability to have a really good band. As it stands, the results of his efforts are ok, but everything is incredibly substandard for the most part. Maybe if he would set higher goals for musicians, we would feel like we've achieved something more. He is competent, and is an excellent musician himself however. Great personality too.

A very effective teacher. He doesnt care about being liked only in achieving progress. If your looking for a laid back atmosphere, this is not your professor. If you want to grow as a musician, you could easily learn alot from him.

Overall, Otto is a cool guy by personality only. When concerning instruction he unfortunately holds every ensemble to a substandard or in other words High School level. Due I respect Otto? Yes. Does any one under his influence benefit from his teaching? No. Otto needs to advance the department!
